the more you make, the more you spend. You can count the people on your hand that live the same lifestyle they did before they had money (Although there are a couple). A majority of people want to ENJOY the fruits of their efforts, and i believe there's nothign wrong with that
The more obligations and liabilities you have each month....so having a very diverse portfolio of assets is crucial, just in case. You have your hand is so many cookie jars, and life becomes ALOT more complicated.
god forbid something happens and all of a sudden you can't make that 10k mortgage payment for a few months.
and if you're a single dude? Forget it...you have to fend the vultures away and completely hide your wealth to find someone that'll actually marry you for you. Look at pro athletes....they're a huge target. lawsuits, etc. People will always want you have, assuming you have more than them
not only that, but certain friends alienate you or get jealous before your success and you have to associate with different people. seen it plenty of times
It's very easy to become addicted to a lifestyle of affluence...speaking from experience, i have a very very difficult time living below my means when the income isn't at a certain level. Once you're at the top, its hard to go back down.
alot of my family tells me they wish sometimes they could live a simpler life..they love their lifestyle but it involves a whole new set of problems and things become complicated
