What do you guys deadlift???

i havent ever gone to 8 reps on conv or sumo deadlift. but i have went to 8 reps on st leg deadlift with 315lbs. i have been training for 6 years. but for 2.5 of those years were in high school. where the would not let us deadlift with over 155lbs........... they didnt want us to hurt our backs.

500 x 10 reps
550 x 5 reps

so it's the ubiquitous what do you dead thread....

i don't know about 8, I did 405 for a set of 8 stiff leg pretty easy.

My best high rep set was 500 x 15 without straps (not that it makes a difference...lol).

Best ever was 405 for 10. That was two years ago and I haven't been training deads all that much since but will be over that in a couple of months.

Cheers,

317 for 16, very sore for days

did 465 a few years ago. from now on im sticking to a deadlift session every ten days, six to ten sets of two to three reps each. will start at 325, concentrating on technique and explosiveness. will add five pounds per workout. i have found in the past that power cleans helped increase deadlift poundages probably due to the ballistic execution.

No idea what I could do for 8..nothing spectacular. In october I did 315x22 with just a belt,in a contest.I usually only deadlift if its in a contest

I have no idea. Why would you want to do that many reps in a set? lol

315x8 at 190 and 5'5, been lifitng for 5 yrs, but only deadlifts for the last 6 months.

Welcome to Strength Training in the U.S.....thats great.:(

BTW...how do you think they arrived at 155 as the highest amount of weight that one could deadlift without injury??!

haven't deadlifted in ages. but reckon 330lbs for eight. bw 180lbs.

got 410lbs for a double a long time ago. there and beyond by the year end.

Did 315 for 7 yesterday, then my grip gave out sending the bar crashing to the floor. The owner of the gym yelled at me for a minute, guess I disturbed the spinning class.......god I have to find a new place to work out.

550. Probably around 600 with a suit and wraps.

Did 315lbs for 9, tried to get 10 and pulled my back out. Haven't gone deadlifting since. Now I do hyper extensions 150lb DB for 8.

that must have sucked. Some of the couches at my school would agree with that but the head football couch has people go as heavy as possible.

the last high rep set i did was 335. That was a while ago though.
