You’re right and that is usually the case, but on my SVT, the boost is regulated by the PCM and only kicks in during heavy throttle. Still the turbocharger is much more efficient even though it doesn’t provide the low end torque of a supercharger.
Our family's old '89 Accord has 293,000 miles on it now. It still has the original engine. My dad says he'll have to blow it up to finish it off....its like Jason Vorhees.
OK I just looked up the RX8 and the most powerful engine only has a torque rating of 159. That seems pretty cheesy for a $30K car. You'd definitely need some aftermarket toys to keep from being embarassed by a lot of other cars.
