WTF, i'm a bit of all of them! you can be a mixture? mostly meso though.

Mesomorph
connective/muscle tissue predominant
athletic
broad shoulders
dense skeleton
efficient cardiovascular and muscular system
great strength and endurance
great posture
tightly strung
poor flexibility

Endomorph
endocrine tissue predominant
weight evenly distributed (round)
shoulders wider than hips
good endurance and muscular system and flexibility
in between ectomorph and mesomorph
excel in relaxation
efficient digestion system (easier to gain weight)

Ectomorph
nervous tissue predominant
long bones ? less dense
narrow
slightly wider hips/shoulders
inefficient cardiovascular system
puberty later
flexible
fast/inefficient digestion
low blood pressure
high heart rate
poor endurance

yep, i can pick out something form each of those categories that could describe me, but the majority is really meso.

my body is kinda like yours( i think i would look very similar to you if i had more mass, less fat.) always had wide shoulders and sorta narrow hips. my back got wide pretty quick and for not training legs much i see more muscle than there should be.
 
my goal is fat loss, and though i'm not on a strict diet nor do i wish to be...it certainly isn't one for gaining.....yet i have gained a few pounds of muscle. maybe its noobie gains? i was just wanting to maintain mass really, but i'm not complaining.


i was going to take progress pics anyways, so i'll post some up this weekend. maybe you guys can take a guess at my body type for me.
 
I gain fat in the butt, hips, upper thighs before anywhere else. When off season I am a curvy hourglass (x frame). If you gain in the belly first, you have more of the endo than meso most likely.

lol, it def late and past my bed time. i don't even remeber reading that part of your response.

umm i kinda gain fat all over, mostly my legs, butt, and even my back. tummy never really gets huge. soft, but fairly flat my entire life.

here's what i looked like before i started working out, diet, and otherwise living like the average fat US resident.

Gains weight in hips/thighs/butt/belly but if slim shoulders broader than hips/butt
gains weight easily
long (lanky) limbs
High tension, sensitive to stimuli
Does not relax easily
puberty later

I'm gonna chalk it up to a mutant.
 
These bodytypes were developed by a psychologist in the 1940s and while they are useful, they are not exactly scientific.

They do say that most people comprise all three types, so the score is often 1-7-1 (for 1 endomorph, 7 mesomorph, 1 ectomorph).

They are also called somatotypes and constitutional psychology if you are interested in reading more about them.
 
Mesomorph/Endomorph I always thought I had wide hips until I actually dieted down for the first time and then saw the were not wide at all actually very narrow.

also ladies find out your frame/structure. these are just for fun, i don't know as to the accuracy of it all. i'm a little over 5'6 and my wrists measured at 6"......my frame is def not considered small.lol

DETERMINE FRAME SIZE

To determine the body frame size, measure the wrist with a tape measure and use the following chart to determine whether the person is small, medium, or large boned.

WOMEN: under 5'2"

Small frame = wrist size less than 5.5"

Medium frame = wrist size 5.5"-5.75"

Large frame = wrist size over 5.75"

WOMEN: 5'2"-5'5"


Small frame = wrist size less than 6"

Medium frame = wrist size 6"-6.25"

Large frame = wrist size over 6.25"

WOMEN: 5'5" or greater

Small frame = wrist size less than 6.25"

Medium frame = wrist size 6.25"-6.5"

Large frame = wrist size over 6.5"
 
Most of the time I think they gage that by joint size and bone density.

I'm 5'4" and just consider myself medium. I've always been petite (until bodybuilding), but I have a client 2 inches taller than me and her joints are WAY smaller. If She's small - I can't be. lol
 
Hmmm I am 5'10, if I had anything under a 6 1/2" wrist I think I'd either be a runway model... or funny looking. I guess I am large frame :(
 
Greater then 5'5 wrist is 6.25 guess that makes me a medium frame but I have always thougth of myself as a large frame.
 
I'm greater then 5'5" and I've always been considered small frame, however in this chart I'm large frame. Good God!

I think I'm also a meso. Gain all my weight in my hips/thighs/butt and never in my waist.
I can also look and something like a slice of cake and gain 2# without ever eating it:p

That may be, but meso's gain muscle much easier than the other two, and lose fat much easier than an endo. (ecto's are ususally thin with low bf anyway).

You've got the best of both worlds - just fine tune it. :)
 
How is that possible how tall are you again? From your pics your structor looks small for sure.

I checked everything for an ecto, but I have very good posture.

Yeap, very small, which is why I've been able to model all these years. Just now I have muscles..hehehe..

It's because I'm small frame. Size 0 in designers clothes; Jeans I'm size 24.

LOL I am right there with you. I see a size zero and I am like, am I in the children's dept? (no offense to anyone who's size zero, I am just green with envy :D ) I don't know my measurements that way but the lowest I've been is a size 8 (28? 30?). And that was a good size for me. I just have a large frame. I won't go into what size I am now... LOL.
