What are these tests for?

I went into my HMO doctor and requested a liver health test. The doctor was happy to order it but had no time to explain what he was having tests. So while I am waiting on the results could I was wonder what do these actually test for (I took this right off the order I took to the lab where they drew 4 tubes of blood):

- CBC (W/O Differential)
- Total Blirubin
- Alk Phos
- Anylase
- ALT (SGPT)
- AST (SGOT)
- TSH

The only one I am familiar with is TSH. I think this is a test for thyroid levels.

CBC...complete blood count (red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets), and plasma (which is made of water, protein and other substances

SGOT and SGPT are liver enzymes....

PSA (prosate specific antigen) is a marker for prostate cancer....

Amylase testing is performed to diagnose a number of diseases that elevate amylase levelsincluding pancreatitis

Alk Phos is an enzyme produced by the biliary tract (liver).....High levels indicate bone disease, liver disease or bile flow blockage.

total bilirubin......A component of bile, bilirubin is secreted by the liver into the intestinal tract. High levels can lead to jaundice and indicate destruction in the liver and bile duct

Thank you gilly6993! It seems like my doc ordered the right tests. I am just trying to do the right thing in terms of my long term health. After all, for me, that is ultimately what amateur body building is all about.
