was just reading some old posts on here about how ZMA is just expensive zinc.

i remember when i was taking it consistently for about three months, i was having about an average of 2 wet dreams a week! i was like "damn, how hard have i been fucking my bed at night?":FRlol: it had to be from that as i was doing nothing else different in my daily activities. have to say that it also made me sleep very deeply and it was harder to wake up in the morning....
without a hardon and a mess! :o

any similar experiences bros?
 
I take Zinc, Magnesium, and B-Complex vitamins before sleep.

I sleep like a log and only seem to remember my dreams when I've taken it. When you're in REM, that's a great sign that natural GH production is kicking. I think there is something to this supplement.

If not for muscle development, then the good sound sleep and ease of waking up in the morning makes it well worth it.
 
ZMA

Where's the best place to pick up some ZMA, not that I need the wet dreams, however a deeper sleep is always welcome in my book... I've been in the bb community long enough to know that not all supps are the same, even if they have the same damn ingredients...
 
Zinc Monomethionine Aspartate, do a search damnit. I am talking about strengths and legitimacy of companies making it...
 
It has been said that other forms of Zinc can be substituted for a fraction of the cost. Personally, I haven't tried those other forms of zinc, but I do like ZMA.

I bought Optimum ZMA 180 caps Never splooged my sheets in my sleep(ever), but I've woken up too horny to go back to sleep.

I usually wake up with big hardons. Sometimes I have those flying dreams and sometimes I have dreams where everything is crazy and I'm laughing. I love those!

I may notice more of a difference on/off than others because I don't have much zinc in my diet. Results may vary.
 
How old are you? I haven't had a wet dream since I was 13. I mean I've woken up many a night with a raging hardon from a dream, but never actually had an orgasm as a result. I've worken up and that way and either came within 15 seconds after waking up the girl next to me to fuck, because I was so turned on, but never while sleeping. LoL Anyone else?
 
I took this for awhile and the morning wood was there standing proud makes it a bitch to take a piss in the morning.

I sleep like a corpse with ZMA. Also it gives me very vivid and crazy dreams. I wake up with a rock hard dick that could like hold 4 45lbs plates on it.

It does also give me crazy wet dreams, and I am older than most of the people on this board. This sup gets props from me, and i've continue using it.
 
isn't it too high to dose? i saw it recommends 3 pills before bed time isn't zinc like iron when you take too much is bad for you like poison?
 
hmm, FDA is 15mg, so if you take ZMA every night(~30mg), plus a multivitamin (another ~10-20mg), plus eat food in the day (lets say 5-15mg) you are going to be getting a pretty fucking large amount of zinc in your diet. Apparantly thats not too good for copper absorbtion + your immune system.

FDA for magnesium is 400mg, so 300 from ZMA probably wont hurt, especially given that there really aren't any reported side effects of "overconsumption" of magnesium.

FDA for b-6 is 2mg, but you arent really going to cause any problems unless you start getting into triple digits, so that should be fine

i didn't know that about zinc. i always thought that about 50mg daily of zinc was beneficial for the immune system and recovery. even though the RDA for zinc is 15mg daily, i'm sure it's much higher for intense weight training individuals. by the way, i am 26 years old and have very seldomly had wet dreams in my life. this is why i posted this, it's damn freaky! it definitely has to do with the "vivid" dreams everyone experiences with this supplement and maybe some "vivid video" too!
 
whats a good dose for sleep purposes...and does it have to be taken on an empty stomach? I eat 30 minutes prior to bed.
 
ZMA gives me wild dreams, no wet dreams but very vivid. I read somewhere the Magnesium is what causes the relaxing effect and wild dreams. There is a ton of information on the supplement board.

Ideally you want to take it on an empty stomach and stay away from calcium products because they can affect absorption. So if you plan on making your own with Zinc/Multivitamin you need to make sure your multivitamin doesn't contain calcium. Also you can get your zinc from diet, but depending on what you eat your body may not be able to fully absorb it. Also intensive training requires more for recovery.

People talk about it being cheaper to make your own, but I figure it is too much hassle at the end of the night to worry about dosages so I just stick with premade ZMA.

The high concentration of zinc in the prostate suggests that zinc may play a role in prostate health. We examined the association between supplemental zinc intake and prostate cancer risk among 46 974 U.S. men participating in the Health Professionals Follow-Up Study. During 14 years of follow-up from 1986 through 2000, 2901 new cases of prostate cancer were ascertained, of which 434 cases were diagnosed as advanced cancer. Supplemental zinc intake at doses of up to 100 mg/day was not associated with prostate cancer risk. However, compared with nonusers, men who consumed more than 100 mg/day of supplemental zinc had a relative risk of advanced prostate cancer of 2.29 (95% confidence interval = 1.06 to 4.95; P(trend) =.003), and men who took supplemental zinc for 10 or more years had a relative risk of 2.37 (95% confidence interval = 1.42 to 3.95; P(trend)<.001). Although we cannot rule out residual confounding by supplemental calcium intake or some unmeasured correlate of zinc supplement use, our findings, that chronic zinc oversupply may play a role in prostate carcinogenesis, warrant further investigation.

It seems like ZMA ingredients helps your body create or are precursors for Tryptophan. It also seems like ZMA came out after Tryptophan was pulled off the market. Both promote sleep I believe.
Just a theory I have pulled together somehow.
Don't really know if it is right or not.

Shit I would sleep with a condom on if I had two wet dreams a week. Doing laundry all week long would suck!
 
What are the advantages and merits of ZMA...what does it do?
 
Never took it, but when I do I will be sure to beat my meat more often. Or find an attractive pillow.
