Hey guys i just completed 2 cycles of Madcow's 5x5 and i was planning on maybe switching things up a lil bit and doing a westside program.

Do you think that i could gain some good hypertrophy and strength out of it?

The only change i would make to this program is to work up to a max set of 5 on rows instead of the 8-15 rep range and on friday i would replace the dumbell shoulder press with a max set of 5 overhead press.

Do you think that i could make some good gains out of it?
 
you are 17 right? Are you making yourself sick with how much food you are eating? If not, that is why your not gaining mass. It doesn't matter what you do as long as you do something.

Westside is fun and so is the 5x5. Give it a shot and see what you think. Those are more stength programs (which I prefer). If you are interested in mass you should bump the reps to the 8-12 range. If you wann be strong, sick with 5s.

eat till you are full 5-6 times a day and after you are full, have a giant glass of milk. If you are still hungry, tell your parents to buy more food.
 
SCREW did the WS4SB program, and he is 15 but the link you posted is an older version I think, theres part 3 out now which has some changes. IMO if your eating enough you will get big on the 5x5 the only reason I dont do it is because I get bored easily and the 5x5 is very repetetive

Yeah i know that i could gain some more mass by simply doing the 5x5 but i was wondering if westside would be a good replacement. I wanted to try something different for once and i got bored after 2 cycles of 5x5.
