lol theres a reason i said the brazilian thing. cuz yesterday, i was hitting on a girl at a beach, about ot get her number when her brazilian boy friend showed up, and i kid you not, brandishing a flag of brazil- and this is like a full fledged fucking huge 8x10 flag. i dont know what he was doing with said flag on the beach, but it sure was awkward.

i think you loaded the question too much by making a big deal about the date you wanted earlier in the convo

imo, next time, keep it casual, chat a bit about a couple of girls you went out with for a bit of company, and how theyre nice girls, very cute, but dont really do it for you, then say something along the lines of "hey my thursday coffee buddy just bailed, do you want to go grab a quick snack for an hour or so, or im going to be a deadbeat and watch dvds" which makes it very easy for her to say yes (or no, without offending you and making next time awkward)

then go out and chat for a bit. take on a mans role (ie pay for everything because you asked her out) and she will subconciously fall into a female role. then make a move if you think its the right thing to do. worst case you get closer to a friend

thats just me anyway :)
