i still do them. it can be a little discouraging as it seems the stomach area is growing outwards more, but when the bf is gone then you will be golden

high cortisol levels as well as E have a tendency to cause fat retention in the midsection for me. Cortisol can be caused by many things, one of which is long slow cardio.
Also, there is an inner stomach wall of muscle which holds your guts in, large meals etc can stretch it out. Research vacuum ab exercise on google, lots of info on how to work it.
Make sure your not eating too LITTLE. Its common for people who want to lose weight to cut cals too much.
If your overweight, you dont really need carbs before or after a workout. My personally opinion is unless your an endurance athlete leave the long slow cardio alone and do tabatta/HIIT/CF/complex type stuff, burns a lot more fat over time. 20 minutes jogging probably only burns 200 cals WHILE jogging, why not just cut out some food and rest? tabatta/HIIT/CF/complex can burn many hundreds or calories for a 15 minute workout because of excess post exercise oxygen consumption.
High intensity interval work, as long as your high intensity is truly high, will trump your long jogs hands down. I find sprinting a drag however and prefer to do other things instead of sprints.
HIIT makes the fat melt off me, especially on cycle. I do 20min total, with 10min of actual intervals (6mph 'jog' and 10mph 'sprint). Works wonder for me and I really enjoy it. So quick to do and gives great results.
Don't start off with 10mph sprints if this is your first time. Maybe 8mph
beachbody insanity i thought was a great little hiit video to download. good for free shit to do at home. def dropped some weight last time i did it, and with the dude on the tv yelling at u it helps too
