Weighted Pullups Destroy your back

Yesterday I day weighted pullups first in probably 6 months. Today everything is sore, my rear delts, traps, lats, abs, and my arms. It's a very good compound exercise that hits your entire back. More people should do them and try to increase their weight on these!
 
Ya, weighted pull ups are a great back exercise. Which grip do you prefer to do? I usually prefer a close supinated grip, although I switch it up from time to time.
 
leather yap, close grip, with palms facing towards you. Less strain on rotator cuff, and allows you to do more weight. I switch up too as well, but always hated wide grip pullups.
 
I feel more of an intense pullup workout when palm of hand is facing away (sorry dont know tech term) and wide grip....I feel like Im growing wings when I do them like that.

agreed, definately feel it in my lats more.
 
Yea, but usually either after dadlifts or rows. This was first time I did them in beginning
