weight gainers

hey every1,

this is my first post - great site! Basically Im a lacrosse player, I'm 5'11 165. Last yr was my first year on a serious weight lifting program I saw fair improvements in my lifting numbers. I've recently started the same lifting program again. I take a nitrotech shake post work out i work out about 2-3 sometimes 4 days a week. My problem, I cannot put weight on if my life depended on it. I eat like there's not enough food in the world so its not like im not eating. I dont eat crap either i eat pretty healthy but I just can't gain. I have just started looking into a weight gainer supplement but some1 told me taht they don't do much and you usually defacate what u're taking in. Can some1 tell me their experiences with weight gainers and any other advice. thanks a lot

weight gainers are basically, protein shakes with more sugar. Honestly, real food, even if its not "clean" will probably be better. I use regular ON whey, and add 3-4 scoops of ice cream for cals.
 
Bottom line: keep eating more until eventually you start to gain weight. Your caloric expenditure is probably through the roof with the combination of lacrosse and weight training.

I agree with the above about weight gainers. There's nothing magical about them, but if they're the only way you'll get enough calories, go for it.
 
Post workout, try adding a half cup of dextrose to your protein shake. A bud of mine suggested this, and it has been a great tip. You could also add a couple tablespoons of AN peanut butter to your shake for additional cals and good fats.

I was advised against weight gainers, since they're full of empty calories. Like SatansLittleHelper said, just add real food.
 
in my shakes i put 2 scoops of nitrotech 10oz of soy milk half a banana 2 scoops of peanut butter and 2 scoops of ice cream soi my shakes r pretty packed
