Weight Gain

Do you think its possible for me to make it to 170lbs by the end of March? I currently weigh 147lbs so do you think it's possible. Sorry if this post doesn't go here.
 
Of course it's possible, you just need to eat more food than you can possibly imagine. You're going to put on a lot of fat, adding 23lb in 8 weeks though. What's the rush?
 
When I was 18, I gained 45lb and grew 2" taller in 6 months. Thank you USMC food! It can be done, but everything has to be dead-ass on... diet, training, rest.

I bet one of my friends who's girl that I could gain that much cause I'm always talking about wanting to weigh that much and stuff and she says that I'll never weigh that much. I lift a lot and I've gotten stronger but I've not hardly gained any weight.

lol well that's a good motivator to work hard and achieve your goals I guess. eat, train, sleep.
 
Yea it is possible, but at least 10 of it will probably be fat.

How to do so: Go to the training vault and start a 3x5 Rippetoe workout tomorrow.

Drink AT LEAST a gallon of milk a day. If you can drink more, then do so. Eat 350g protein, 350g carb and 140g of fat per day.

And you will reach 170 without a problem. Oh yea, no cardio. Do your workouts and sit on your ass the rest of the day.

Your goal should be to put on muscle, not just any old combination of fat and muscle. As others have said, you WILL put on a lot of fat if you increase your weight by that much in such a short space of time.

Aim to get to 160 by the end of March. Far more of the extra weight will be muscle, you'll look better, you'll lose the bet but get the girl ;)

Look at the Rippetoe 3x5 in the training vault sticky. It was designed for someone in your position by one of the best strength coaches in the US.
