u spend 2 years and every penny u have and can borrow renovating an awesome old 1882 side hall, double parlor victorian home, with 12 foot ceilings, 4 fireplaces with the origional cast iron summer covers, crown mouldings, floor to ceiling windows with cypress louvered shutters, 4 piece baseboards and heart of pine floors and you WILL become anal retenitive posessive about it!

trust me on this one.

is your fireplace as dizzope as MM69s?

Ok, thanks you guys. It's very rainy here. We have a brand new house with really plush, light carpet. NONE of our neighbors wear shoes in the house either.

So, it looks like NO SHOES is gonna win. I'm buying one of these things to keep the shoes in the garage in:

how is this even an option for you CM with your light plush carpets and brand new house. :p

it's a house not a barn!

Wow! That sounds like the type of setting I'd like to live in one day. WTG! In New Orleans right?

it used to be 2 separate corner fireplaces in 2 rooms. after knocking out the common wall between the 2 rooms to enlarge the living room it became a "V"-shaped double fireplace. :artist:

it got kinda fru-fru at Christmas, but not quite to MM69's level....but i don't have an ol' lady lurking around in the background, sneaking in throw pillows and ferns everywhere.

P.S> I was born and bred into the flooring industry

I live in New England

shoes prefered off in the winter months and heavy rain

quality flooring = less anal about these issues as they clean easy and stand up over time./
Wouldn't you be happier in life enjoying your company, than tweeking out over someone not taking their shoes off when it's nice and dry out.

my 1880's home has recently sanded and varnished heart of pine origional floors.

NOBODY scuffs these awesome floors up with their shoes..much less high heels...and dogs/cats stay outside.

I didn't know they had pine wood floors in magnolia housing projects

lol, I'm sure I would approve!!! Sounds really neat.

At Christmas I go to the trouble to put put red slipcovers on all my furniture! Some people think it's nuts but ya know? When you have that much into a home (mine's not a mansion) you really want to ENJOY it! Plus, the white millwork really pops with the red furniture next to it.

Of course I keep the red through Chinese New Year and Valentines then it goes back to the Rubbermaid bins!
