Prepared to sacrifice your testicles for the good of your tastebuds? A German gourmet restaurant for cannibals is hoping you’ll do just that, if it doesn’t turn out to be a gruesome publicity stunt.

Soon-to-open Berlin restaurant Flimé is looking for potential diners to donate their body parts to be turned into meals, reports London's Guardian newspaper.

“Members declare themselves willing to donate any part of their body,” the internet, newspaper and television advertisements read while noting that the restaurant is looking for an “open-minded surgeon.”

The advertisements have provoked outrage in Berlin, where in 2001 computer technician Bernd Jürgen Brandes was killed and eaten by self-confessed cannibal Armin Meiwes.

"I'm working on the assumption that this is some sort of a warped joke," Michael Braun, the vice-chairman of Berlin's Christian Democrat party told German paper Bild. "But it's disgusting, not least because it wasn't long ago that we had the case of the Berliner who was murdered by a cannibal."

So, how exactly will your unwanted limbs and organs be prepared? The restaurant's menu is based on the Wari culture of endocannibalism, where relatives eat dead ones out of respect, and suggests a traditional Brazilian appetizer of bolinho, described as “fried tatar balls with a sweet-sour dip” and a main course of feijoada, a mixture of “various pieces of meat with black beans and rice.” Human flesh is replaced by fresh fruit and pancakes on the dessert menu.

The restaurant is expected to open on September 8, 2010. Those who want to make reservations on Flimé's website are required to fill out a medical form before their booking will be accepted

Its location, along with the restaurant's owners and investors, is being kept secret.

The restaurant says it will pick up any hospital costs incurred by willingly mutilated diners.
