Water Boarding

The easiest way to do this without wasting so much water is to use a tub. (bring in the next, same water) You can tie them to a plank or stretcher and dip their head with a towel wrapped over the face. With their body balanced correctly you can get the questioning done by yourself with no witnesses. Just don't let go of the plank to start shooting out the window, it doesn't work out so good for further intel.

I think some are probably more prone to freak from this than others. I run into the water-up-the-nose panic during scuba classes and we teach mask removal skills. It's one of the reasons I always emphasize to the students to flood the mask from the top rather than the bottom. Even then, even with control and being able to breath, about one in every class will flip out and stand up the second they get a little water up their nose. I can easily see how panic can build in an inverted position like this where the dead air is staying in the lungs because of that position (it's CO2 buildup that gives your body the breathing reflex, rather than lack of oxygen) - even if you breath out to prevent water from entering the nose, you're breathing out the good air, doing nothing to satisfy that breathing reflex, and on top of that you've got the drowning reflexes...The more nervous you get, the faster your body uses oxygen....Yeah...game over.

wow i have no idea why this is so powerful. just having your head down a bit and water going into yor nostrils??? how come I don't freak out in swimming pools then?

it's a simulated drowning. i don't know about you, but that's one of the last ways (drowning) i'd want to die.

The tough guy wanna be in the clip even asked the same thing. Inversion allows the water up your nose and sinus cavity, even with no water getting into your lungs the sensation of drowning is real as the lungs have a higher concentration of co2 and you feel everything filling up. This guy lasts only seconds.

yeah - would suck. My question is, you obviously don't give out information while water is being poured on your face, so once they raise you up, don't you get over this fear and clam up again?

I'm sure it's so awful that you say whatever the fuck they wanna hear.. If anything, it's overly effective. There's a potential to admit to crimes you didn't even commit.

That's my problem with torture. Many folks admit to things they have nothing to do with.

The snitch will squeal. It's std procedure to weigh the intel for value and correctness. Good info is rewarded, bad info leads to further questioning. Everyone knows something. Even if it's a name or activities in an area.
You also realize this isn't used on everyone, it's reserved for higher value captives.

problem was, it wasnt always reserved for higher ups, or ppl were misidentified as higher up when they werent

I don't really have a problem with it. IT is not like they are being physically hurt. Just mentally bringing inducing fear. Seems like a more humane way to obtain information to me.
