Waste getting too thick

I notice that my waist is getting very thick - I lift heavy, take in a good amount of calories, not much carbs - and def. aiming for more muscle. What I don't like is my waisteline - I am also on estragen and test. for menopause - if this is normal, no problem but is it? I also do cardio once a week - should I be doing more?:(
 
Is your "waist" getting more muscular? Or are you developing love handles? If you're going heavy with squats and deads then yea, your waist can get thicker.
 
A little bit of love handles when I sit down - when I stand my stomach looks flat but when I sit and I look down I don't like what I see.
