Was in the hospital today, heart vs steroids?

if its anxiety you should consider yoga/meditation/prayer.. atleast EOD. it will really help. also stay the fuck away from stimulants.. that includes coffee and all caffeine obviously. i dated a girl who had it, she was hooked on diet coke which was full of aspartame and caffeine.. and she wondered why she had it and couldn't sleep

I was at the doctor today, i called them and said i wanted an apointment that was rushed and i dident wait. I came there 5hours later and got blood drawn, they will test colesterol and bloodvalues, i recieved a machine that i from tomorrow on must use 3times in the morning and 3times at night to monitor my blood preasure signing in the results on papir and they will get a percentage og my heartrate at morning and night in 3days.

Was speaking with the women who took my blood and coudent myself from crying, said i would do anything to find out and fix it if possible and that my girlfriends dad would pay anyamount of money for test and such, was thinking about cardiovasuclar practision to test how muc oxygen and such...

I have taken the choice not to use steroids in 5-6years untill i find everything i can about my condition, i still feel that i am not informed in anyway since they said they coudent speak to me about that because it was a rushed apointment and only bloodwork could be done... On friday i have an apointment with my doctor and she will tell me everything about my condition

I do feel like that they are hideing something from me, but again maybe its just me wanting answers to fast..
Funny thing was i made her cry, i told her about my dream to become a doctor and help people so i would like to live forever!

praying is a part of my day, i wear religios sign on everything and i find my self praying when hard times are above me... I must tell that my life has in no way been easy... far from that...

127
83
92

That bottom number seems high to me. And if 92 is your pulse then thats a bit high.
Heres the thing with monitoring your BP multiple times daily. You need to get your resting BP to get a true reading. Sit down and watch some TV or something for 30-60 min and relax then without getting up take your BP. Take it 3 times to get an average.
Going to get BP checked at the doc's office or sticking your arm in one of those machines at the supermarket is BULLSHIT. Your not at rest. Even if your resting in the doc's office for a few inutes your still anxious because your there. Its called white coat syndrome.
Even if your at home relaxing then you want to take your BP and forgot your monitor is in the other room and have to get up and get it....well...you just fucked up your reading. As soon as you stand up your BP is going to change dramatically and take time to get back to resting BP.
Your BP fluctuates as much as 30 points either way with every motion you make. You can be at perfect rest with a BP of 125/65 and a 60 pulse then walk calmly out to your kitchen and it might be 145/85 pulse 88. So you need to consistantly take it and take it at rest.
And absolutely yes.... as some have said, you definatley have some anxiety issues. This itself can be a real hinderance to enjoying everyday life.

They did an ultra sound and measured the thickness of your aorta wall it sounds like. I believe the normal thickness is under 12mm thick (maybe even 10mm). Did they tell you what they measured on your ultrasound? This is usually the product of high blood pressure over an extended period of time. Either way, its a stressful state for your heart to be under.

Do you carry more weight than you should? Family history of high blood pressure? How are your cholesterol values? Irregular heartbeat?

my mother and her father both have low BP and high puls..
I do not carry more weight then normal all though i am built skinny but by exercise ive managed to achieve results that i would say might not fit my bodytype

as said just got blood drawn and they will check for colesterol ill get the answer on friday, i do sometimes feel i experience irregular heartbeats but they really dont effect me that much.. I feel that i actually sometimes get anxiety when it happens and that makes it just jump start an adrenalin rush

they gave me no answers about my heart condition all though they said, its bigger then normal but not that big that it was a problem allthough it could evolve into one. It wasent the actually heart that was to big just a tiny part of it, that was bigger then the rest.

cant wait untill friday

Yesterday i was rushed into the night shiftdoctor, i had heavy heartbeat, chestpain, breathing problems and crippleing feeling in fingers and feet...

I waited 15min in the waiting room and felt that i wanted to be rushed into the "danger clinic" every thing was shit... Then it was my turn and i spoke with the doctor i told him the intire historie and he began exsamen min

He said my heart beat was kinda normal since i was bigger then the adverage and he also said that my heart could easly have grown by my training in the gym, the steroids would also have a play in this role since the heart is a muscle. Then he laid me on the bed and started to touch my spine and asked if it hurt some time, and yes it did when he touched my right side of the back

He explained that i could have a syndrome called "cord syndrome" a nerve in the back that provokes pain into my chest area making it feel like its my heart, then addrenalin kicks in, then breathing problems and a vicious cycle starts.. And he mentioned that my anxiety might have a big role in this

So today was the day, and i spoke with my doctor!
Blood pressure was fine

She said it was called hypertrofi something, so yeah we all know what hypertrofi means on this board. It wasent high enough to be something serious but it was kinda "bigger" and should be monitered once every 2nd year!

On monday ill get my answer on colesterol, i asked if they where able to take a print of my hormone values.. but she said it wasent something they just did, so i skipt that part!

Listen bro!. Im taking time to write this because I know how you feel. I had exactly the same kind of problem 4 years ago.

Used to get these crazy attacts at least once in a month. With heartbeats, numbness in hands and sometimes under my feet, chest pain, problems with breathing. I thought I was gonna pass out or die everytime.

Got rushed to the hospitale with an ambulanse twice! I was there for 4 days the first time, and overnight the secound.

The doctors did all kind of tests, kind of ultra sound thing on my chest, cardio, monitoring, hormone check etc.. Gave me a device that i wore for a whole week to automaticley check my BP every 20 mins.
In the first couple of days the BP was little bit high sometimes because of the nervousness, and then it came back to normal.

After months of hospital vistiations and research THEY DIDN`T FIND ANYTHING.. I was so frustrated, because I ment that it had to be something wrong with my heart, why else I keep getting these nasty attacks.

After almost a year they came to the conclusion that these attacks are anxiety attacks, and put me on SSRI. That shit made me a zombie, so I stop using it.

Now 3 years and many attacks later, I`ve learned to control them.
Anxiety attacks is not easy to get completley rid off. You have to train your self, dont be scared, ( even though its easier said then done ), STOP STRESSING, stress is factor nr 1 for anxiety no doubt.

Then we have steroids. Steroids can cause anxiety attacks for those who is prone to it.
You said that you had this since you were 14, that means you are prone to have anxiety attacks. Steroids is not the main reason why ppl have these attacks, but they sure make these attacks to come more often and maybe even feels stronger.

I`ve had these attacks before and after I started using steroids, and I can say with certainty that I know what I'm talking about when it comes to steroids and anxiety.

NOW I`m not your doctor, and are only explaining my former situation to you. But, based on what I read, you are in the same palce I were 4 years ago, desperately looking for answers and hoping that weight lifing and steroids dont have anything to do with you condition.

Steroids rearly create the anxiety attack condition by its own, but if you already have anxiety problems, it will make it worse.

Keep going to your doctor, follow thier advice, stop stressing and think wisley.. Im sure its gonna be alright bro :)

I couldn't Have said it better myself

The good thing about anxiety is as you get older you will grow out of it.
I remember a time I had it growing up i was constantly checking my Heartbeat on my right wrist.Don't remember when i finally grew out of it, but i was glad when i did.

And I'm a firm believer if you don't have a Blood Pressure monitor,GET ONE! They're cheap and not only do they give you peace of mind but could possibly save your life.
