I hereby declare that I am NOT a racist, and I started a thread specifically for someone to post a quote by me that proves I am a racist. There were no posts.

So your accusation is null and void, and you are out of line.

If you are going to moderate, you must provide a balanced hand.

You are not doing so, and as you stated before, you don't like me, so you are incapable of fair judgement, making you NOT QUALIFIED TO MODERATE.

I request that you rethink your strategy, grow up, and face the fact that these quotes exist and WERE RESPONDED TO BY ME WITH COMMENTS APPROPRIATE TO THE SITUATION.

Your friends are the racists here.

I appreciate your point, but the persistence came because only ONE PERSON acknowledged my point, while the attacks were MANY.

I love people. Not only are they assholes, but they are unrepentant assholes when proven wrong.

What the fuck is there to expose? Members can read these dumb fuck threads just like you. Going off and quoting them from other threads over and over(the same fucking quotes) saying your going to expose them.

Calling out Warik and calling him racist? Excuse me but I recall him saying several times that he is half cuban and half lebanese, which I bet these days has been getting a hell of alot more unecessary flack in the world then you are. And I dont hear him complaining that the man is out to get him.

Shit if we wanted most of the board comes from backgrounds that were just as opressed if not worse throughout history then blacks. Some of these groups were not all colored either.

Lets see what groups have been opressed at one time or another but actually do shit with their lives.

Jews, Irish, Scottish, Vietnamese, Cubans, haitians, Palestinians, Native American Indians, Many People throughout South American countries.

Fuck every country in this world has had some group that was opressed at one time or another.

Hell a good example was the extermination of 5 million jews, gypsies, homos, lesbians, and others who did not fit Hitlers idea of the human race(which is funny because the way he looked he should have been the first put on the firing range)

Last week I was reading a Canadian Honor Roll for 2001 and one of the people who was on the Honor Roll was a man named Lincoln Alexander(there is a parkway in the city namd after him) He is 80 years old and was talking about the diffculties of getting a law practice together when he was starting out. He found a partner eventually. He went on in his carreer to become a member of Parliament, a Cabinet Minister and a Lieutenant Governor. He is to this day a chancellor at a university.
One of his favorite things to mention is people need to stop complaining and get educated and get off their asses and do something in their life.
Oh I forgot to mention, he is black, and all those carreer highlights above were firsts in this country.
Bet he went thru a hell of alot more opression then you ever did but he didnt bitch. He fought back by doing his best.

My point is this, there is always someone who is not going to like for whatever legit or stupid reason. If you let it get to you well they win. And bitching about it constantly does not fix it. Being the better person does.Trust me I am the biggest complainer in the world and I can tell you complaining gets fuck all done.

There have been numerous race threads, derogatory comments by a number of members. Continously. Response from mods is rare, unless it's RyanH. The majority of the racist/race-related threads are not started by Strongchick, or even seemingly black members.

The lack of effective responses to these threads (until they degenerate into some really degrading language) is apparently offensive to some members. If the TOS doesn't allow it, then whoever, mods, George, should enforce it. And not wait until a member such as Strongchick has to make numerous threads of a provocative nature to get some attention to them.

ditto.... as for the observation that the quotes aren't racist......apparently they are OFFENSIVE to her, maybe to others who don't have the determination to expose the blatant ignorance of some of the members here. The internet makes it easy to make these comments public. I think the mods should ban ANY member who makes race-inflammatory comments, threads (poorly disguised as questions about minorities). Period. That would stop these comments.

In some cases, they were posted prior to my involvement in the conversation. Taken in context, I don't think they were trying to get me going.

Although, now that I've gathered them together and re-posted them, that would be very convenient cop out.

Actually, I didn't close it. The thread was already closed when I posted that response. I did, however, want to be the one who closed it, so I figured no one would mind if I impersonated the locker.

I also find it amusing how you do not present such "quotes" in context, yet dismiss quotations provided by others as irrelevant simply because THEY were not presented in context.

The point is this.

What I feel is racist in nature another may not. So, if I deem her comments as being racist to me then they are.

Now whether or not I really feel that she is racist is a different story and not relevant to the post I made above.

It is all about reference point and personal belief.
 
It won't make any difference how often Strongchick tries to make a point or who speaks on her behalf. Most of you are completely blind to your own irrationality. But my own conscience would bother me if I didn't speak.

Summarizing:

First you slam her when she asks you to demonstrate how she's a racist. You claim nobody's ever called her a racist and insist she provide evidence.

Then she provides the evidence and further goes to the trouble to cull posts for the racist commentary you claim you haven't made.

Then, instead of responding to her doing exactly what you asked her to do, you have the astounding gall to tell her she should shut up, that she's making too much out of all of this.

Warik, in the same way he tries to weasel around homophobia by finessing a definition of it that conveniently excludes him, tries to make a point about racism in the same way -- ultimately resorting to the usual shouting, calling Strongchick "a fucking bigot." It's not suprising, since he'd earlier called her a racist while everyone denied anyone had done any such thing. Remember that post.

I think Strongchick is pretty damn amazing for containing her anger to the extent she has. The rest of you can call her a traitor, a fucking bigot, an idiot, etc.. You can tell her repeatedly to leave the board. You can take cruel polls to ban her. You can call her nigger in private mails. You can impersonate her when you hand out negative karma. And you think she should treat you with gentle language. I can imagine how you would respond to such treatment.

so bloody what if she used apostrophes as her quotation marks... that is allowed too. perhaps technically not grammatically correct, since they are supposed to be used within phrases that are already quoted, but cripes... that's how it was intended and i was not the only one who understood it as such.

you and many others have categorized her and you view everything she does in one way, when really her intentions are not what you think... actually, i honestly think a lot of people on here find things to pick apart to make it seem she is one way.

semantics. i would guess that most people would interpret the usage of "may" in that context to mean "in addition to". you're usually a good writer warik, you should understand that.

people have always used words or concepts to cover things up. am i saying she is racist - no.

did she say something which while intended as sarcasm came across as POTENTIALLY racist......sadly yes. we have a sarcasm smilie dont forget....:rolleyes:

its a minor slip anyhow.....to accuse her as being racist on the basis of this is pointless as she isnt racist. and she does have a good point somewhere in her posts (i cant be arsed to go find it :) ) where she says that racism has been long 'tolerated' on these boards yet when one 'slip of the toungue' is commited on her part people are baying for blood. its a double standard, especially when ive seen memebrs post things on eugenics here and STILL be allowed to post afterwards.

why is anything she's said more offensive than the torrent of stuff ive seen here. and on the basis of this, why is anyone choosing to complain now.

im not particularly happy to see the multiple threads everywhere. but as so many of u say 'put her on ignore'

I really don't understand why 'you people' wasn't interpreted as I meant...those people in the thread that were saying blacks are taking jobs from whites.

'You people' referred to a subset on this board. That it is being taken as a racial slur is so pathetic, and serves to support the nuts on this board that consistently post direct, racist comments whenever anyone tries to have a decent discussion on race relations.

The above statement was read by folks not involved in the Jesse Jackson thread and interpreted as racist. It is clearly sarcasm.

suddenly, this place is yet another where I can't be myself without being singled out.
 
Maybe a lot of the so called "racist" quotes you posted were in fact sarcasm.

Just as some may interpret your words as racism, you may have interpreted theirs as racism.
 
It just dawned on me why 'political correctness' came into being and why there is a backlash against it.

PC seems to have come into being to deal with this very issue: misinterpretation of language and intent.

But all it does is prohibit honest and open communication.

The cry to censor has good intentions. However, it prohibits freedom of speech. So we have to endure the insensitive assholes who take freedom of speech to its extreme and just say any old thing for IMPACT rather than to provoke thought.

Well, I reserve the right to sarcasm against the assholes who then switch their intent from IMPACT to HURT. Why? Because every once in a while I read those posts and I see that they are true representations of that person's way of thinking.

While it is fruitless to try to change these people, I reserve the right to bring attention to it.

Maybe, just maybe, those people will hold less 'clout' on this board, even if it means I have to hold less 'clout', too.

the only reason i can see it was is that it was posted on a spearate thread, so most people didn't know the thoughts of those 'other people' in the jesse jackson thread

i can see why they might think that. hopefully people know you well enough on the board to know you werent being racist, but then not everyone will have that knowledge.

its really a minor point anyhow. its just smalls and warik and bo were going on and on over that one sentence so i thought i'd chime in un-necessarily :D

just because you placed a sentence in a wrong thread and offended people by mistake, it doesnt cheapen your arguement. i was just trying to get that across

actually we did have ONE not too long ago. I even commented on how it remained decent. Probably because it was done on a weekday during working hours.... when the children are at school or at daycare.
