Focusing on ones personal life while ignoring the selfless acts and jail stays that one has made to fight ignornace and oppression give ammunition in my eyes that they are "racist" if someone donate $1,000,000,000 to the national Cancer foundation , stays with kids at Shriner's hospital for hours on end and gives scholarships to to medical students , but yet may have a personal problem , does that make the person bad???

I never intended to give the impression that I thought MLK was anything less than a great man. I merely wanted you to answer the question, which you still have not done.

No, 2 + 2 does not = 5. Perception and opinion are not fact or reality. All people have flaws, and have made some poor choices in life. However denying that these flaws or poor choices exist, or labeling the person pointing them out as racist, smacks of hypocrisy and insecurity.

It is no better than saying that Joseph Stalin was a great man for doing most of the work in defeating Nazi Germany. Then calling a person a racist for pointing out that he was responsible for the deaths of around 15 million during farm collectivization, and another 600,000 through torture between 1936 and 1939.

There are no "fact" that you have shown, but you and a few other have tried to make a "point" that MLk is not a man of his word. Then again the same has been said for Jesse jackson and every other african American leader since they do not have the same skin color as you knuckleheads...

my best friends bro is a Kenner fireman and he told me that the blacks have taken over the westbank ever since they let them across the missisippi river bridge to evac the city. They torched a police station and the Oakwood mall! They are shooting at people trying to evacuate people from the hospitals and the city. 19 Jefferson Parish cops have turned in their badges b/c they are outnumbered and the government hasn't stepped in to help. My friend said that he thinks if they don't send the law enforcement help in the next 42 hours, they could take the eastbank too. I don't want any of these pieces of shit even near my house.

I heard from a reputable source that I know that they are sending in the Army. I hope they do and shoot every last one of these disobedient pieces of human trash. I want to go check out my house in Kenner on Monday, and I don't want to bring a fucking gun w/ me when I do, but it looks like I have to. I will be picking up a shotgun or two when I stop in Baton Rouge before I head to Kenner on Monday.


I just got off the phone w/ my friend who told me this, so the rage is fresh in me right now.

I know man..its fucked up. I just hope the army lays the law down and stops these shitheads from getting in kenner. It kills me that they are in the city and I'm all the way over here in Houston.

edit: oh yeah, and one of the reasons they are looting the wallmarts is b/c they want the weapons in the stores! My aunt over here in houston has a friend who owns the trucking company that delivers goods to the Academy Sports stores in the area in Kenner/Wank and he said the drivers couldn't go in b/c they feared it was too dangerous. THey were carjacking people on the interstate and mugging them for money. The police are in a shortage of people and can't be everywhere at once.

I'm in SC. Haven't heard anything about the hospital. I'm listening to a streaming police scanner from NO and getting alot of my info from that.

Learn to differentiate b/w the fact that they are black and the fact that they are the lowest forms of human beings for shooting at people trying to evacuate/help people!

I have always had strong views about things, I know who I am and what I'm about. I will not say anything on a message board that I won't say in person, I'm a stand up guy, if I have a view about something I will not change it just because it may be unpopular. Therefore, I don't get concerned when someone calls me a (insert buzzword here). They are only reciting what they learned in school or watching MTV. Unlike many of the "tolerant" people who think I'm wrong because I think for myself, I don't feel superior to anyone different than me. I am not a moral authority or a self proclaimed expert on every topic, I don't expect everyone to agree with me. I respect people who at least believe in something, at least they think about things. I do wish that people who carry the PC flag would follow their own rules, as I do mine.

He is on a street sign in my town because some blacks demanded that the former name be changed "or else". The business owners were against it for various reasons including the need to change names on their paperwork and because the name MLK often is a sign that you are not in a good part of town. Plus, blacks make up about 5% of my area and while people here don't have a problem with MLK, they don't discuss him around the dinner table either. I think he was a good person and definitely influential, but he would not be on my top 10 list of people to name a street after. Now the street in my town is called by 2 names in order to satisfy everyone. Ironically, the street follows part of the path of The Trail of Tears (from the forced migration of the Cherokee Tribe to those who don't know). Since I have some Cherokee blood I would find it more appropriate to name the street after something that actually occurred there instead of naming it after someone who never even passed through the area. Again, nothing against MLK, it's just that different people have different heroes.

What does life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness have to do with someone writing him a check? That sounds like a Jesse Jackson quote, he thinks he is owed a living for blackmailing people and showing up at every crisis he can attend. "We refuse to believe the bank of justice is bankrupt". That sounds like a looters philosophy to me. The mentality of entitlement, a debt that will never be paid, personal responsibility that will never be taken, an outer enemy to take the focus away from the inner self. It's true that I don't have the same reverence for these people that you do, and you probably feel the same about my heroes. I don't expect you to, and I don't think you are wrong if you don't.

This is a general problem with education in America that tends to shy away from accomplishments and achievments of African Americans. Infact African American history doesn't get much press at all in schools except black ones.

Maybe this is the reason they demanded an MLK drive??
