<----you need one of these to ride. . .you need to ride it longer to get the same burn. . .but. . .hey. . .whose complainin'??

What happened to the spinning bike?
I got on it today for about an hour, holy shit I was soaked...
I'm not a big fan of treadmills, I mean if you are gonna run you might as well run outside. Much nicer and great for your mental state too.

I don't run I walk fast on an incline when using a treadmill. Also I live in Canada we got so much freaking snow this winter it is not even funny so that means about 6 months of the year being outside for exercise is not fun. I think I would get bored of the spinning bike and I would get saddle butt from being on it 2 hours a day.

Oh yeah, 6months is a bummer.
Well treadmill it is :) ..Awesome legs QT :qt:

Q, Have U tried the elliptical, how is it. I mean a shitty elliptical just sucks ass. I know a refurbished life fitness is way steep. However how are the nordic tracks?
Are they bettter or worse than the tempo fitness? I would always go with the elliptical vs the treadmill, just cause the movement for me is much more fluid, and well less... pedantic... I hate treadmills though. Princesa is right about outside, but yeah, U don't have that option.
U do look phenomenal though... I cannot deny that.

I agree with Ariel. Elliptical are better for you because of the motion. Better on the knee's also... but I am older and have to worry about those things. You probably are younger and don't think about those things yet. But then I don't know how old you are.

hows been the snow fall up there this winter Q? one thing I am not missing about T town.

OMFG more to date then then all of last year!

Thanks but that pic is over a year old I need to get back there and beyond. I am leaning towards the treadmill a friend from the gym has the same one and he likes it.

If I lived over that side of the world, I'd vote you get me. I burn more calories than a F150 Harley :)

I hate treadmills, I'd go for one of those step / ski machines - much more entertaining

I'll give u a good cardio session :qt:

treadmill easy.. i have 1 in my house and love it ..walking up a maxed out incline at a fast pace is priceless =]

so which one did/will you get? best choice is outside under soft ground or grass but since that's not an option I'd get the treadmill.:)

i hate running outside .. i would pick a threadmill any day of the week over that

yeah but new york outside is not the same as Katy outside. there is this trail by my place with this long water pond and trees. the dirt on it is so soft, when i run its like extra cushioning on your shoes. quiet and peaceful. i go for walks there sometimes, just because.

btw u can get extended warrenties on treadmills that include home service incase of any problems etc..i got a 4 or 5 year extended warrenty on my treadmill ..

I guess I am getting nothing and going to have to do my cardio at the gym the treadmill went for $499 to $999

QT, look at it this way, if you're not on the ground floor of your apartment building your neighbors would probably be raising hell with a treadmill, the thump transmits whether you're walking fast or running (and yeah, my treadmill has "shock absorbers").

If my son was using the treadmill downstairs I would feel it in a separate part of the house upstairs. And this place may have its issues, but it's a solid house, built in the 20s.

I do live on the ground floor but you bring up a great point as I am going to be moving and that could present a problem in the next place. I may go back to my orginal plan of the spinning bike. It is still on sale for $399 and it is not powered so I think it would last a hell of a lot longer then any of the low end treadmills etc.

It was $499 to $999 which means the orginal price is for sure bull shit to begin with. For that price I could got to fitness depot and by a commercial grade floor model so crappy tire can go f themselves. I am looking at spinning bike again best part is I can by a floor model for $100 off.

Brown's Sports & Cycle • Fitness Equipment

meh i would much rather a treadmill then a bike ..

What's different about a spinning bike vs any other stationary bike? I was thinking of getting a treadmill, but I know what it costs to fix them.

Wont cost shit to fix cause it wont break if you get a substantial one and not department store crap all made in the same factory overseas and re-stickered with different names.

A spinning bike is great for your legs, glutes, abs (especially lower abs because you have to keep them contracted at all time). You have to get up and ride it which makes it much much harder. Not to mention that you hit different muscle groups...
The other bikes are useless in my opinion. YOu could sit there for hours and barely break a sweat. Just my .02

I got my spinning bike this morning so far very happy with my choice. It was orginally $699 got it for $549.

I do two hours of cardio a day over contest prep it is going to be very nice to do it in the comfort of my own home watching whatever the hell I want on TV. I really am going to love it for AM carido just get up put on my shorts and sports bra and spin my ass off.

why bother with the clothes? all you need is my face as a seat and you're set.

I'm trying to find the motivation to get in 90 min. on the bike before the game gets too close. I did two hours yesterday.
