Very traumatic day for me today......

I'm so sad. This is just breaking my heart. I have had these shoes since about 1988-89 or thereabouts. I wear them almost everyday. I do everything in them from working around the house, wearing them to work, fish, hunt, wade in the water, and out to eat. I never wear socks with them.

I am having to retire them today because they developed a small hole in the sole and stuff like rocks and dirt comes through it and they get uncomfortable. My wife said for me to not to get them resoled. She bought me a neew pair two Christmas's ago and I have worn those shoes for a total of about 5 or 6 times.

They are so comfortable and the newer ones, I will have to break in and that sucks because the old ones wear so well.

Here they are...going to the deck shoes hall of fame...I know they look comfortable to you but they are not for sale. :D

I had a pair of jeans I felt the same way about. They were my ex boyfriends and they were so worn, soft and big. I loved them and wore them to relax in all the time. One day they completely ripped, could not be repaired. I still miss them. The jeans not the ex boyfriend!

oh wow, those are some great shoes, i am surprised they held up for that long on the first place.

My shoes seriously don't last longer than a year.

I bet they smell excellent.

Dude...there is nothing left inside of them for them to smell.

You should see some of the shorts I wear. My wife said she is embarrassed at times at what I wear out in public. :FRlol:

Put some Shoe Goo over the hole. Be good for another year or so.

I have Shoe Goo'd tennis shoes and it held up to tennis for quite a while. And I played at Grand Slam levels.

In my dreams.

My wife would kill me if I did that. She wants them out of the house.

I could post them on eBay as someone suggested and see how much someone will pay for them.....hmmmm.

I have ALMOST the same story! Read on:

I'm so sad. This is just breaking my heart. I have had this underwear since about 1988-89 or thereabouts. I wear them almost everyday. I do everything in them from working around the house, wearing them to work, fish, hunt, wade in the water, and out to eat. I never wear pants with them.

I am having to retire them today because they developed a small hole in the ass and stuff like rocks and dirt comes through it and they get uncomfortable. My wife said for me to not to get them sewed. She bought me a neew pair two Christmas's ago and I have worn those underwear for a total of about 5 or 6 times.

throwing away good shoes is like breaking up with a good-lay-but-ohhhh-so-annoying-girlfriend: You know you have to, but you don't want to

It's killing me. I had to wear them one more time today.

lol, Looks like my beau's boots that he ropes with. He needs new ones pronto... I just got me a pair and I know that it takes time to break them in, I have the sores to prove that.. but he is coming out of his soles with his toes. Not good when you are picking up a 300lb calf and fighting to tie it.. not to mention riding and you can be thrown off at any time for any circumstance.
