Vertical Jump Muscles

megad

New member
Anybody know the percentages as to which muscles are used the most in a running, one-legged VJ?

I'm guessing that it's something like:

50% Quads
20% Glutes
15% Hamstrings
5% Abs
5% Lower Back
5% Calves

Anyone sure??

well I've read quite a few ratios, and they're all different

but here is one

40% Glutes and erectors
25% Hamstrings
10% shoulders
25% - quads, calves and others

this is for a standing vertical jump

running jump is more about elasticity than brute muscle power.
think triple jumpers, higher jumeprs etc
