variations of reverse hypers

since i go to a fitness center(bally's), the only thing I can come up with that comes close to a reverse hyper is this. there is an ab ball, about 2ft in diameter that I use, and put it on top of this bench which is about 1.5 ft tall, and lay belly first on top of the ball, which is on top of the bench. this is the only thing that I found that is tall enough for me legs to just dangle and raise backwards.

I know this isn't textbook reverse hyper, but would I be ruining my back this way since I dont have a flat rigid surface to lay on?
