Var/liver pain

This is my first run with var and I was always under the impression that it was mild on the liver. I'm taking 60mgs ED I workout and 40mg on sat and sun. A week into this and I started to feel aches in my liver area.

Anyone else ever experienced this? I'm thinking of cutting back to 30mg ed and 20mg on the weekends.

What's considered the best liver aid out right now? I remember reading on here that studies concluded milk thistle is worthless.

I would definately back down on my doseage and perhaps even stop and get some liver function tests done to be safe.

Latest research shows the best supplements for your liver are rALA and N-Acetyl Cysteine. These are OTC supps and should be easy to find. There are studies showing that while your liver is under chemical stress these supps actually protect and will regenerate liver cells.

I think your so-called side effects are Psychosomatic...and I don't think you could start a fire with your thoughts. You are imagining this liver pain. Other symptoms would manifest themselves way before you would feel any so-called liver pain.

lol....ok

I wasn't expecting any liver problems what so ever from var, this completely caught me off guard, so it's not like I sat there waiting to feel a problem in my liver.

Also, I've ran winny a few times before and actually was concerned with liver values, yet never felt any.

My mother's side of the family has a history of kidney problems, and if I get off my diet for too long and start drinking cokes, dr.pepper etc. every day for a week or two straight, I'll get sharp pains in my kidney area. After a few days of water only and some cranberry extract pills, pains go away. Am I imagining this to?

The liver pain feels very similiar to the kidney type pains, although it's not quiet as sharp and more of an ongoing "ache" type feeling.

I actually laid off the var for three days starting last friday, and over the weekend, the pain stopped... monday, I popped my 60mg dose, and by tuesday afternoon, it was back slightly. Today, after a few more days of that dose, it's more apparent.

I'm going to cut the dose in half, get teh supps recommended and see what happens.

why wouldnt you think there would be stress on the liver..do research. its 17 alkylated even if its a mild steroid its still hard on the liver.

Always good to take precaution, get a liver protectant. However, I have to say, you cannot "feel" your liver.

Of course I knew there would be stress. But it's always reported that var is far milder in toxicity than other orals such as bol and winny. I never had problems with winny at 50mg a day, so it was just suprising to have something happen with var at 60mg a day, especially so quickly.

Also, this is my first cycle in over a year and a half, so it isn't like I've been pounding away at my liver with cycles lately to cause a cumlitive effect.

oxandrolone is quite a tricky one - some studies have shown for it to repair liver damage and is used on numerous patients suffering from certain problems. Others suggest it - like other c17's is problematic.

Increase water intake, increase antioxidants, use the above mentioned supplements and why not take a trip to the doctor and get a test done.
