I am taking some valium to help me get to sleep the last 5 weeks before my contest. I thought I had heard before that valium can cause some water retention. Is there any truth to this? - cbeaks

I have never read ANYTHING that would suggest it does (and have taken it on many occasions and never seen any extra water retention...) There is still the theory that benzo's (valium included) can lower cortisol levels however (which would be beneficial).

I read a while back that a small dose of valium can increase LH levels. So it might be usefull in that way...The study was in an old MMedia 2k
I am not sure about thew GH though because I have it just seemed like a rumour without any studies indicating it does.
