The delivery was by the USPS, not fedex or UPS. The card is pink and does not specify and exact pick up time or date. I find it hard to believe the cops are going to be on call 24-7 for me!

I would talk to your fruit man first and find out if there was any reason he may of sent it with a signature conf. on it. I wouldnt want to be a source. Just think of this, as many scammers that are out there trying to scam us, how many people do you think are trying to scam a good source, knowing they'll resend or something. I'm not saying that is what happened to you, but if I was a source, WHICH I AM NOT, I would worry about those things. Would'nt you? Talk to him first before you do anything. My guy packages so well, I would not hesitate to sign for a package so maybe he just shipped it a little different and took this route. Just my .02

sorry bro... aight, well basically ive never heard of USPS doing that, just clean out all your fruit and that inclues your hardrive on your computer if you have any fruit lists or any other info listed in there and then just go get it and play it by ear, i dont know what to tell ya, sounds suspicious... but you never know
but you said there wasnt an exact date you had to show up, i would wait a lil while, maybe they will re-deliver and if they dont, im sure nobodys goonna be staked out there for weeks for a fruit basket, unless you bought the farm,

After a while they will return it to the sender. Or open and consume the fruit themselves
If you tracked the package and it never got held up anywhere for a day or 2 and made it straight to your home I wouldn't worry too much. I have had to sign for fruit several times even when there was a big sticker that said waive signature - alot of mailmen are in a hurry and there are people that are part timers that are always new and don't leave things because they aren't sure if they can just leave at the door. If it is an enormous basket of fruit they might try to do something but smaller baskets of say peaches and bananas go through pretty quick without holdups. You'll hear two opinions 1)pick it up 2) dont pick it up - however ultimately you have to make the decision.
