Using bands in commerical gym

I just got some bands to try out during my deload and would like to incorporate them into my 5X5. Since I lift by myself in a commerical gym the equipment is not band use friendly. When I did dumbbell presses the other day I passed it under the bench but it is a little difficult to get into position where they don't pull at an angle. I would like to also use them on squats but not really sure what would be a good way to anchor them. Any tips on using them for bench and squats would be appreciated.

Anchor them to a set of pins in a squat rack for either exercise.

Use one set as a safety to you when you squat or bench, and another set at the lowest pin setting to hold the bands down.

Yeah. See that is the problem. Our squat racks are made by Hammer Strength with no pins. It has the safety bar that is not adjustable, which works ok for me because it isn't high enough to interfer with my squat. The only adjustable rack we do have just has a safety bar that rest on some hooks, which dislodges when pulled up on. I have never seen one like it and it is pretty much worthless.

Yeah. I think that is what I am going to do-maybe loop them around the safety bar or anchor with db.

Perp, do they have a mono lift for squats? Thats where i hook mine to sqauting, around the feet of the mono lift.

for benching i use this black floor(metal its for deadlifting) and wrap the bands around them and have that under the bench w/ the bands connected. If u dont understand i will be benching tommarow, so i will have pictures.

if you use DB's to anchor them, make sure you put something on the sides of the DB's so that they don't roll around while you are lifting. i put lay a 5lb plate on either side of the db.

You guys have some interesting avatars. I'll get a picture of my wife's ass on mine so I can join the discussion...

Totally off topic. Consider this a bump???

If your bands aren't to heavy, I found that if you use a 45 lb plate with another on top, you can somewhat adjust the amount of tension you want from the bands by sliding them around on the floor or placing them on another plate. This way, you can also easily adjust where you want them on the bar. When I use them, I take the band and make a loop around the plate(s) and through the center and bring the band back on itself. This gives good tension at the top without killing your elbows from too much tension (single loop to bar). The DBs also work well if the bands are light enough and the DBs are heavy enough. Hope this helps.
