Update on my little neighbor

(thanks to jnuts for reminding me)

For all those of you here for longer than 2 years, you will remember my little neighbor that we all sponsored for his DC field trip. Here is an update on him.

For those of you who don't know, I have a neighbor that two years ago took a field trip to Washington D.C. with his class. He had to have 50 sponsors because one of his objectives was to mail 50 postcards to people with a brief historical fact on the back or something related to D.C. The sponsors had to donate $4 to cover the cost of postcard and mailing fees. Well people donated a lot more than $4 each. There was so many donations there was enough money to pay for his entire field trip and that of two other students who couldn't afford to go. Around $1700 was donated (90% here and the other from another board)

Well anyway, I wanted to let you know what kind of person he truly is. He always repays his good deeds. This year the class took a field trip to the Grand Canyon. He didn't go. Instead of going and having fun with his classmates, he decided to participate in a bike ride for raising funds for MD awareness. There were 100 riders from Ft Lauderdale, that rode bicycles from Tallahassee, FL to Key West, FL. A total of 750 miles (based on their route). He was the youngest rider there at age 14. The next youngest was 22. He made it all the way to the upper keys before his bike finally gave up the ghost. The entire sprocket finally had enough. (it was a ten speed that was about 12 years old, he didn't want me to buy him a new bike, just donate what it would have cost to the fund). I sponsored him for $3 for every mile he completed and he had a few other sponsors too. He ended up with a tally of over $8000 for his miles up until the bike broke.
This is why I was gone for so long last week, I was his chaperone and only had a dial up to work with. So couldn't post much.

My partner was so amazed at his unselfish nature that he is paying for he, his mother and step sister to go the Grand Canyon by themselves this summer.

This is around early 2004 (I think) prior to his field trip. 12 years old. Look at those guns.

I guess hanging around me increases vascularity. Only 14 and doesn't even work out yet will put people to shame on the AAS board by the time he is 18.

damn what happened to that last pic... tinypic.com must have decided to host it lifesize.

This is better than watching the news. All they have is rape this, murder that. Its good to see someone who is selfless, especially at such an early age. I hope he learns when he's being taken advantage of early, so it doesn't ruin him. People are predators and this wonderful kid could easily be prey.

Solid, bro man. keep him off steroids.

Certainly did go through a growth spirt since the first pic. Good to see he is doing well for himself.

cboog i dont think anyone is going to take advantage of him with AAP as his bodyguard :)
