I'm heading to a trade show for work next week.

It means being on my feet ALL day of course.
My boss asked me to write a difficult email to the people going, explaining the dress code. I wrote something very nice about wearing proper underclothes, having your clothes laundered and pressed, and wearing black dress shoes.

She said it was perfect, except she changed it to say REAL black dress shoes, because too many people wear black loafers.

uh oh. that's what I was going to wear. I have two black slacks, and some nice black loafers that are clean and plain, but comfortable enough to wear all day and not be noticed.

but now it seems they are going to be noticed. wtf. I'm not going to wear heels from early in the morning then walk the tradeshow floor and then go out to dinner 4 days in a row.

i'm wearing the black friggin' loafers dammit. god i hate shoes. i mean, yeah, i own 55 pairs, but i like being barefoot.

but also, one man last year wore his white company dress shirt and a printed white tshirt underneath, not an undershirt. So that was bad. and another guy doesn't wear an undershirt at all and sweats a LOT.

Hi Stilleto. When I was in the professional world I used to wear REAL dress shoes all the time. Looking back, I don't know how I did it.

Now, I know they are not the most trendy sought after shoe on the market but they are very accepted where I live in the Pacific NW. I first got turned onto them by buying them for $5 at a garage sale and flipping them on ebay for $90! Then I got hooked on them and will buy them new, lol.

This is the shoe I wear almost everytime I need a dressier shoe:

They are so worth it if you have to be on your feet all day! I even wear them with shorts and handkerchief skirts. I feel snappy enough in them.

I wear them with yoga pants or jeans all the time.
