Involves controlling insulin release in the first 1 foot of the small intestines. I guess this means that insulin release from the pancrease is actually absorbed into the blood from that portion of the intestines. What was not explained here is what is done to that first foot of small instestines when the tube which is inserted into the mouth

very interesting. my father has type II and i have been fortunate enuf not to get it though he didnt develop it until his 50's. he is a little too old now probably for undertaking the risk of surgery.

The doctor said that the procedure could be performed by inserting a tube in the mouth , thus making it non surgical. I would go nonsurgical for EVERYONE as a means of minimizing complications. The age issue was brought up by the reporter. This is really interesting
