trying to drop bf% (dextrose?)

Carbs are needed after workout regardless of cutting or bulking (however amount will depend on which). Dextrose is just an easy thing to add to the skake...you could add cereal or rice or pasta, but the fact is that dextrose is high GI and convenient (and probably tastes better).
 
Nelson are you suggesting not to consume Carbohydrates post workout at all or just not high GI carbs?

If no carb at all how would you have any glycogen to lift on?
 
dextrose is very high GI, converts quickly to the sugar glucose which is responsible for restoring muscle glycogen...other simple carbs are good but dextrose will be converted and shuttled in the quickest....
