Truck drivers out there?

Soon I may join the unemployment list and I was wondering what a truck driver makes? I am conisdering a truck driver job as it seems to always be a demand and the pay is decent.

What are the pluses and minuses?

I am in California and I would like to stay just inside the state and be home every day...

I wouldnt want to drive till I go crazy...I wanna be home every day....otherwise I wont be interested...
