Hello all,

I was diagnosed about 2 months ago with low testosterone(240ish). My doctor referred me to a urologist who proscribed testosterone injections. Basically 200mg every 2 weeks. I tried to do as much research as possible before seeing the urologist, hoping that we could do weekly injections to stay more stable, but he insisted on by-weekly.

Needles to say, this is not working very well for me. I feel great for 7-9 days. Then on the 10 day I start to feel very lethargic and argumentative. I lose a lot of interest in sex and working out.

The nurse took blood for blood work before this last shot. I remember the urologist said that if I feel crappy after 10 days then when we have our next consultation(in 2 weeks from today) that he will up the dose.

From your experience is this a good protocol? If we up the dose will the residual last longer? I think i will just peak harder. Any suggestions on how I should approach more frequent injections with my doctor? All help is greatly appreciated.

Yes you are right for more frequent injections. This is due to the half life of test which is 7 days but can be as low as 2 days
with people with very low shbg readings who would require e2d, e3d injections. What are your shbg and e2 readings while on test?

Print out some paperwork for the test your on showing the half life to your doc.

once a week is the way to go. I dont know why all these docs say every 2 weeks. Your test levels will be a yoyo instead of consistant. Insist that you want to go every 7 days minimum or youll go somewhere else.

What you really need is to locate a better Doc or clininc that specializes in HRT. Weekly injections is consistent and stable levels in your body. Some Drs. just do not have much experience with Testosterone and wellness, its really sad. I would highly reccomend you do some research on HRT and there is a post about HRT that I will bump up to the top so you can read it and continue research. That way, you can go fully knowing what you are talking about with your Dr. and put him on the spot. Feel confident when you speak, also let him know that you are in a rollacoaster ride , ups and downs, with the 2 week spread.
True HRT Injections are at 100- 125 mg/ml each week. Drs. act like they are scared or afraid to script out Test to people but the folks in the Wellness/HRT/Medicine clinics know what it means for a person to feel really good, as every person only knows how they feel, not based on what the Dr. "thinks"!

Yep can him and find someone who cares about how you feel not just how to stop the problem 24 days a months and to heck with the other days!

I should be getting the results from the blood draw in two weeks. I'm sure that will show that my test was low before this last injection. I did speak with the doc about getting a script so i could do my own injections. He said no initially but after a while "i might be able to talk him into it" basically he said it is because of the way that steroids are viewed in today's society and I think because he wants to make some money off me before he lets me go on my own.

I appreciate everyone's response. I'll see how my next consultation goes and then possibly look for a new doc. would i need a new referral for a new doc? Thanks again.

That's because docs probably think "half life" means it peaks then, then tapers off, when that isn't true. So, using their reasoning, if Test Cyp has a half life of 7 days, it peaks at 7, then tapers, so 2 weeks you're good. When in fact, at 7 days it's half as effective as it was on day 1.

I believe it's a common misconception that injected test is like a bell curve when really it's like a ski hill.

I've felt this myself as well which is why I inject E3D at smaller amounts.

You were diagnosed 2 months ago; how long ago was your first actual shot?

Any improvement or news?
