Traps/ Makes Or Breaks Shoulders??

Traps, in my opinion are " KEY " to well developed shoulders. The interesting thing is that for such a small muscle they can handle an insane amt of weight.

My traps are very developed and I owe this to years of grueling, intense, shrugs and uprights.

Today is back day and this what I do to fry my " Tank Strap Holders".

5 sets barbell shrugs:

225lb 15 reps holding weight by ear for 2 seconds per rep
315lb same
375lb 12 reps same
405lb 8-10 reps same
225 15 reps same

I drop set last two sets w/ dumbell shrugs w/ 100's

Blades to the ears every rep is key.

" The other day a girl came up to me and said; I'd love to touch your body, my reply; I dont blame you.

let me elaborate, what I meant was when shoulders are viewed from the front, trap developement or lack of is very apparent. Thanks, for the comment on the weight.

Nice JJ thatll make me hit the traps harder, seeing i don't stand a chance at ever getting as ripped as you

do you guys think its easy or hard to overtrain traps?

mine never realy get sore

heavy weight is the key to traps.....and volume too in my opinion....they are kind of like calves in that respect.

I love training traps!...The only problem i ran into is that my traps over power my shoulders:( ...So now i lack the width in my shoulders i used to have:bawling:

I agree w/Tony... alot of guys w/over-developed traps makes their shoulders look smaller... IMO-- symmetry is more important than BIG traps.

I fucking die the next day after doing traps,I have a neck problem and I really pay the next day w/ the headaches.

Ah, see now that makes sense :)

I agree. I'm lucky, my traps are one of my stronger points in my physique. I accredit this to deadlifts. Off the floor, off the rack, whatever. You will see a difference.

I don't want big traps...I want to be freakishly strong from head to toe...

Funny how freakishly strong usually always means VERY large (especially traps) from head to toe also...

interestingly enough i train traps maybe once a month and everyone comments on their size... i guess they grow from typing so much.

THAT'S what I'm talkin' about! That's my favorite kind of man. :-)

i dont train traps often but it seems everytime i train traps they grow the next day LOL. my traps grow so easily that i only train them when i am realllllllllllllllllly bored lol.

They can outgrow any muscle I have, I try to train them only once every 2 weeks, since they get sore from squats and deadlifts as well as behind neck presses.

I notice when I train them, behind my neck and up behind my head feels like it's going to explode.

i love training my traps. im still in high school, and when yer walkin down the hall at 6'5" 220 with big ass traps, people get the hell outta yer way in a hurry. :D

I love traps! Its the reason i started training :) Seriously i have two big ass bone lumps on the end of my collar bones so i used to look like a skeleton. Nowdays fortunately i have them built in by my traps and shoulders. I can finally wear a tank top and look good! I love wieght lifting.
