Training your hammies, how?

How do you work out your Hammies? I do like this but they do not seem to respons that good.

Legcurls 4 sets of 8-10
Seated legcurl 10-12reps 3 sets
SLDL 3-5sets, 8-15reps(depends on how I feel).

I often have sore hammies after a session(the days after) but they do not respond much. How would you train them? I've tried less training, but now they almost got smaller :)

I like single leg curls followed by lying curls supersetted with very light good morns (mostly for the stretch). The lying leg curl machine hurts my lower back so I skip that now.

My rep scheme is just the opposite of yours. I do higher reps on the leg curls and can relly feel the burn and use good form. SLDL I use lower reps 8-12 and only go just below my knees. (I'm pretty tall). You didn't mention when in your workout you work Hams, but you may want to bump them to the front of the line that day when you are fresh and strong. Good luck.

Wider stance squats and deadlifts will target them well, but conventional style still works nicely. Aside from those, SLDLs and good mornings are all you need.

squat PL style with a wider stance. you will involve your hams more. If you have a GHR (Glute Ham. Calf Raise) machine, those will help.

Wide-stance box squats seem to do the trick along with the whole gamut of deadlifts, GMs. I keep meaning to try pull-throughs.

I used to do leg-curls but once I got to the stage of having to pin extra weight to the stack I gave up on them since I'm not typically fond of high-rep work.

i forgot all about GM's, gotta do those standing if you want to recruit your hams. if you do them seated, you work more of your lower back

Putting together a DC training regimen for when I get this cast off...

The exercises that I use are:

1. Stiff-leg Deadlifts
2. Good Mornings
3. Hamstriing raises

I dont know much about DC style training...are you going to do squats? they are more important than any exercise

Yeah, but using a narrow (shoulder width) stance, which I have read will stimulate the quads more than a wider stance will. Unfortunately, I have to wait about another 11 1/2 weeks before I can do any leg work at all with this damn, itchy cast on! Still crutching to the gym for upper body work, even though it is at reduced weight for now.

Once I get my legs back into some kind of decent condition, I plan in using madcow's 5 X 5 for a few training cycles.
