do you guys think it's good or bad? i've heard people say both and idk what to do, i can't decide. right now i'm just going light when i'm sore. so it's heavy one day, then light, and then heavy again. is that okay or should i go heavy all the time or every day.

I do the 5x5 and my legs are still sore when I do my squats.I do squats 3 time a week and the only time they are not sore is on monday yes it is ok to work out when your muscle is sore

If they are sore, your body is telling you they arent repaired.

I dont get DOMS too severely, but when I do the workouts are lighter. The workout generally gets rid of the soreness too.

Whether you lift light or heavy depends on the volume and weight you are doing. How long have you been working out, and what is your split?

as long as your eating alot and letting your muscles rest about 48 hours before next workout, you should be fine.

what does your routine look like? soreness could sometimes indicate over training but more often than not, when someone says they are sore it usually means they aren't conditioned properly. if you fall into the latter category then make sure you warm up enough and don't worry about soreness... you will get used to it. usually the min rest period as MD above mentioned is 48 hrs. if soreness = fatigued then that is definitely overtraining.

i assume you workout each lift/group of muscles/body part 2x per week. if so, once should be heavy and once light.
