Training split ?

I'm starting a new 12-week cycle. The first 4 weeks is going to be a base phase where I do 5X10 for the squat and bench on the heavy day. I was wondering, on the light day later on in the week, should I go 5X10 with a lighter weight than what I used on the heavy day (75%) or should I go 3X10 with the same weight as the heavy day? Thoughts?

I just finished a cycle and I'm starting a new one. I'm going 4 weeks of 5X10 before going heavy again (>85% 1-rep max).
