Toronto’s 50th gun murder of the year…

All the violence is Toronto seems to be from low-level street gangs. These are the most dangerous to the public. More so than all the mafias and organized crime. They are all wild and have something to prove. The rap culture in which we have created is not helping either. All they talk about is murder and drugs. They have this 'hardcore' image they have to keep. They have idols like 50 Cent who talk about carrying a gun and 'pumping' crack in the 'hood' and killing anybody who crosses them! Now because 50 says its cool everybody wants to doit. So all the people in the lower class neighbourhoods are trying to sell drugs and its a big war. They all have to carry a gun and they all have a chip on there shoulder. Where else would 5 people get shot cause one guy accidently steped on some thugs new white shoes? Obviaslly a hip hop club. How come that shit dont happen at a jazz bar? Or a dance bar? Because every second word in the music is not about killing someone or selling drugs.......

But I thought that there were strict gun laws in Canada? And Los Angeles? So therefore the gun related crimes should be low right?
Just goes to show the blatantly obvious fact that criminals dont, never have, and never will give a shit about gun laws. And the only people you encourage with gun laws are criminals because they know that good decent people will obey the law and not have their guns, which criminals will take advantage of.
I love Texas.

It is just so sad!!! When you look back in time, there was not as much violence as there is today.

Nonsense. The average person has never been more safe than today. In the old days, just travelling from one town to the next was a large risk.

What we need to do is take the handcuffs off of our police and let them do their job. To hell with the bleeding-heart liberals and political correctness; racial profiling WORKS. It's time to let the cops start patting down the key demographic for gun violence in the problem areas of the city. It's not a 40 year-old mother of three driving her minivan that's perpetrating the crimes....apply the profile and stick to it no matter how many idiot civil liberitarians cry foul. Also, tough mandatory minimum sentences need to be implemented for illegally carrying a firearm. Put a tough law on the books, then give the cops the green light to enforce it. Until then, Toronto is going to be a warzone.

LOL at the Americans telling me to arm myself it is Toronto not Compton. To be honest it is pretty removed from the area of the city I live in. It still bothers for the fact that it makes the city look bad as well as if these are not taken care of the problem will grow. Yes we do have stricked gun laws but the criminals are not using legal guns purchased obviously, in fact most if not all illegal firearms come into Canada via the US.

Who told you Canada has strict gun laws? Not at all. So your point is moot.

Let's also keep this in perspective. Any American city of comparable size still has at least 5 times the murders that Toronto does.

Very true but you have to admit gun violence is on the rise big time which directly relates to gang violence. Something needs to be done stop the growth and spread of this.
