Too much cardio?

Since summer school has finished for me, I have been hitting the gym quite hard in the mornings. I also have been doing a number of sporting activities that have been keeping me quite active such as Golf, basketball, football and soccer.

My workout schedule is as follows:

MWF
20 mins treadmill
30 miins circuit (bike 45, weight 45 and repeat)
10 mins Bicycle or elliptical

TTH
Pure weights
20 mins running

My question is, should I keep this up or cool down a bit because lately my back has been slightly irritating me later in the day.

I only have about 8lbs to lose.

Ease up on the running on T, Th. See if that helps. Stick to running 40-50 minutes low/medium intensity in the mornings on MWF. Try doing sprints one day instead of running to change things up. I don't think you need to run every day.

You gotta tell us what your goal is and we use that to evaluate your program.

I am trying to lose only about 8lbs of fat. I would like to keep my muscle mass though but the actual goal is to lose fat.

I weight-train 4 days a week (Mon-Tue-Thu-Fri) and do Cardio 6 times /week after Weight Training (and on Wednesdays and Sundays).

I keep it at 75 ~ 83% MHR for 45 minutes and it works wonders for me... (paired with a sound diet, clear).

I tried HIIT... but didn't like it.

Cannot compare with early cardio as the lazy bastards at my Gym open when I am already in the office...

My only advice: LEAVE THE MAGAZINES HOME!!! If you are doing cardio to lose fat, do it like you mean it... Get some punchy music and concentrate on the beats (recommend something with 140-150 bpm)

Peace

"30 miins circuit (bike 45, weight 45 and repeat)"

This sentence makes no sense.

Cardio isn't impacting your back.

Yes, keep it up, looks good. And there is no law against running outside.

Speaking of that, since I guess that I listen to mostly rap music, a few songs which I find I try to keep up with are lil jon - stop f**king with me, what u gon do and BIG - notorious thugs. They are a good workout for me.

Anyway, I finally found a good routine for me.

MWF - 25 minds treadmill and 25 mins elliptical
TTHS - Weight training, 20 mins elliptical

25 mins elliptical

In my opinion this does nothing for you. I was doing this for 45-60 mins at a time. It burned calories but overall it did not help when it came to put the pounding on my joints (running)..

stick to 30-45 mins on the treadmill or outside. Running say 8-10min miles...
