Wow 7 bros had these today at the gym. I never tried a pair on but these guys must of been in a frat and were doing arms day in frat cutoffs.

One brought jak3d and they put 4 scoops each in there water bottle. I laughed hard.
Aren't those things like $100 a pair

They prolly want to get torqued

I have a pair for running. It's very cool to be able to wiggle your toes and you definitely use the muscles in your lower leg more in them.

I sometimes see people wear them to lift. Not sure what the point would be; especially on arm day.

I hear they are great for working out. Like squatting barefoot. Designed for running, most that own them, swear by them. Hate to drop a plate on my foot in them tho.

They are awesome. Especially for legs or deadlifts, etc. Anything where u need that good stable base. They are great to workout in. I have a pair and love em. I either squat barefoot or with my toe shoes. Ha ha. No other way.

I have a pair that I just use for screwing around in the yard. I like the way they stretch the toes out. Helps with some of the damage you do running.

Yup love umm more than my chucks they are great for cardio as well really helped with my foot pain.

Fila has skeletoes and adidas has some new ones too, but the fila ones merge your last two fingers so they are 4 fingers shoes :worried:

I have some and love them for running and leg day. Definitely feel it in your calves more. I also hear the merrell barefoot trail gloves are real good.

I have the Vibram Speed shoes or whatever they're called. I've had mine for over a year and they're the only shoes I workout in. They're great for deadlifts and squats; it feels like you're barefoot. Worth the $110 I spent alone on the amount of ware it saves from my joints from running.

P.S. they can be a great conversation starter :)

Also, you get used to putting them on. It becomes much easier after a week of having them and my feet just slip right in no problem. However I wear a size 14 shoe so they look kinda goofy...

That's not a bad idea since it's a bitch to get your pinkie toe into the vibrams
I tried some skeletoes on last night and it felt weird as fuck to have those two fingers merged, I wear those toe socks so I know the sensation of finger separation yet the skeletoes felt awful, had that merged pinky feeling for a good 30 min after taking them off :worried: also the sole is waaaaay thicket than the vibram one

Merrell's use the vibram sole.

I run in the vibram trail shoes since the true running shoes have a pretty smooth sole. The trail shoes give some tread.

hehe, good ideas catch on. Yeah they are awesome for squatting and deadlifting. Plunkey chastised me for "paying for the barefoot experience" but who wants to actually squat and deadlift barefoot in a gym? Unless you're a chick with nice feet that's uncalled for.....so they really are the best way to lift. So suck it plunk....:lmao::doublefi:

and hoss, for lifting the shoes will last years. If you run in them however the inside padding will eventually fade. Mine are now about 3 years old and it's gettin to the point where i can only walk and lift in them. If i run in em i develop blisters to quick cause of that weardown. They are utterly worth the money. I had the vibrams but the adidas ones look solid.

And Plunkey still does chastise you.

This is the most heterosexual you could possibly look in your vibrams:

I don't care how good they are, they look intolerably goofy.

old guys agree...i wouldn't give a rat's ass if they made my bench go up by 100 pounds, you wouldn't catch me dead in a pair of those ugly-ass fuggin' "shoes"...and, for the record, i've never owned a pair of those :rainbow:-ass crocs either...fuck that shit.

fail...the verdict is in. They're everywhere. Bodybuilders are wearin em, powerlifters are wearin em, runners, heck i saw shaq in a pair...now yes he did look goofy but you know what, he probably doesn't give a fuck cause theyr'e comfortable. People care more about utility now then style. The benefits far outweight the perceived image purveyed by a few old folks who thought ear buds were whacky too.

plunky <----- old soon to be infirm

maybe you can craft yourself a pair of sweet orthopaedics here soon with that 5 axis thingy in your basement.

Brittany
Jonas Brothers
Beanie Babbies

... and people looked stupid chasing those fads too.

I actually have the skeletoes and the merged last two toes makes it easier for me. Not as much as a hastle to get on. Ha ha. Def feel more of a calf stretch in my leg workouts and the shoes have actually helped with my calf development.

i didn't run for a few months cause of back/hip problem, ran again the other day in the vibrams and my calfs were on lockdown for 3 days. It absolutely makes a huge difference when you're forefoot landing.

Yeah they gai factor is just way too high with them.
I do my entire workout in socks and I haven't been hit on by another man 1 time. So I'll stick with what works.

Wouldn't happen anyway with Vibrams. But the socks thing, dude...gross. Why are you making your fellow lifter smell your socks while he's trying for a max? that's just wrong dude

adidas adipure trainers adipure Trainer

these are kind of sweet....and adidas knows how to advertise/brand their product. Vibram had a big head start in the market but now that they're patent is obviously over and/or circumvented they're probalby going to get crushed by the big boys. They relied way too long on word of mouth and didn't market their shoes to athletes nearly as heavily as they should have.

crocs, uggs (at least the dude ones) and goofy-ass foot gloves...you won't see any of those muh-fuggers 10 years from now...at the end of the day, people still like to look cool...case in point, not one of us here has a snowball's chance in hell of turning "pro" in any sort of sport ('cept maybe a couple of actual bodybuilders around here) but, we're still busting our asses so that we look good...so that we look good...look good is the end game...and those fucking footies don't look good...especially on a dude...it's like putting whitewalls on a ferrari...fucking ugly.

Crocs makes some kick ass shoes that dont look rubbery and full of holes anymore, hell they even look like snearkers and converse shoes, I use some wedge Sassari to work that are awesome

when i said "crocs" i was, of course, referring to the original :rainbow:-ass little dutch boy looking design and, honestly?? that shit looks fine on a chick...it just looks way too fem for any self-respecting dude to wear imho.

I got a pair and decided to sprint with them on pavement about two weeks into them. Bad idea!! Took me about 3 months to recover from that.

It's that think you have to work around while you ladle stuff out of the troughs at the Whole Foods buffet.

1) never been in a whole foods

2) I'm still at a complete loss as to what you're talking about. Anyway.....fyi i cook all my food. I go out to eat maybe once month. I only have one or two restuarants i actually care to go to. Everything else i cook better at home. YEah i'm like fuking emeril dude

Some kid had a red pair I match his red shirt and a black pair to match his black cutoff.

Best $180 bro investment ever.

I saw him rep 135 on smith bench for 6 till failure

Wish I had my iPhone there to film the madness

I heard they are gonna be banned soon since they are nearly as potent as Beastdrol

Better stock up on your colors now

I just put in my orders 1 sky blue, 1 magenta, 2 neon greens and 1 flaming red

All matching with my gym shorts, tank top with headband

i have a pair, some thoughts

pros: They make you run more naturally, help balance, nice on leg day, very light weight, awesome for sprinting/track, ppl always comment on them/attention whore's dream, (con), they're stitched and made well.

cons: You feel every stone on the ground, you better be looking at every step trail running (ankle buster), lot of stubbed toes, if it's cold/rainy they're simply uncomfortable to wear, you have to wash hand/machine wash them n then hours air drying, feet smell like shit after long days out, the soles get pretty quick with use, if you go to beach/river n walk in water - rocks/sand get trapped inside and it's very difficult to keep taking on n off when feet are wet.

I dunno i'll prlly bust mine back out sometime again but I don't like the attention they draw, I don't like ppl staring at me at the gym as it is. Wear em around the house maybe once a week and it's a wrap

This is virtually always the case.

a pair of flip-flops from old navy wood be cheaper, smell better and prolly last longer.

Lambruh, i've had mine for 3 years now. They've never stank cause every few days of wearin em i soak em in woolite then put em infront of a fan overnight. Plus before i wear em i spray em before and after with rubbing alcohol. And heavy leg day is the best time to wear em. Heavy squats is when you want to feel the ground the most.

I was shopping today and Saw a pair of skeletoes again, on clearance $34.99, tried them on and still couldnt make it with those merged toes... damn....

extremely gai...not only that, follow a wearer of them to their vehicle and 9/10 times it will be adorned with obama/green sorta bumper stickers.
i'll pass

you told me you wore them homie, forgot that? lol....now i know you're conservative. Plus most crossfitters are middle to right leaning and they are the ones who made these things what they are. By "far" they are target market for these products

find the post where i said that, i've never ever owned them
thought about buying them for a beachy sorta shoe (still would), tried them on and they didn't have my size.
so i didn't buy them, and that was 3 yrs ago, never tried them on again.

bro i'd admit to owning them if i truely did.
fuk i was close to, had they had my size i would've bought them.
and i only think they are gai cause every hippie dbag i see in oregon is rocking them...proly hipster is a better term than hippy.
and as far as squatting is concerned, wrestling shoes are much better i like the high top support helps prevent rolling a foot during walkouts

do you have cerebral palsy? who rolls an ankle shuffling backwards a step or two? never heard of this problem. Arnold and Zane always squatted barefoot.

been to quite a few pl meets, never seen anyone rocking barefeet at them.

Its very possible to roll an ankle on a heavy walkout if wearing running shoes with high heel area and low ankle clearance. These shoes often have high heels areas because of all the shock absorbing shit for running. But it can cause a roll if not stepping out flat footed.

maybe that is why any serious squatter will be sporting flat soled shoes similiar to wrestling shoes, not because they have cerbral palsy

really? i see dudes deadlifting and squatting in socks all the time. Buddy of mine out in CA lifted with Mendelsohn some years ago but still competes, he deads in socks all the time.

I love my vibrams!! Joined the club at Christmas...great conversation starter in the gym too. ;)

Peer pressure...
He wouldnt STFU about how I really wanted them but never tried dif shit and how I never buy stuff for myself, etc so I bought the damn things, I must say the top of my foot feels bare foot but the bottom/sole is really hard, I have to break into them and they are for running so I dont expect them to be too soft so I'll wait and see, the two finger thing still feels weird

you're not a old person gardening or a baby on the beach. get some real shoes! or is that about crocs?

i can see the running aspect of them but wear them in the gym i'm busting your fucking toes!!
