to vicsectomy or not to vicsectomy

o.k. guys , wife will no longer take birth control ..married for 19 years and have two boys 10 & 12 and not planning any more & don't want any surprises, her solution "VICSETOMY" . IM reluctant to do so and I hate condoms.. I think she should go under the knife but she just wont do it. Sex has not been the same for the last 1 1/2 years or so .. By depriving me of sex is driving me up the wall and lusting over other women.. any of you couples experience this and if so what was your conclusion?? Any of you men had this done ??

Both my exhusband and brotherinlaw had one when it was decided "enough kids". Neither had any complications. It is like a 20 minute procedure in the doc's office and you sit on some frozen peas for a day or so. Whereas for a woman it is done under general anesthesia, in the hospital, overnight stay and higher risk for complications. The choice was a pretty easy one in both cases.

I am glad it isnt like teeth where you have to go back once a year.

the operation itself was ok, the needle was hardly felt at all, and its numb pretty fast. the doctor was a crack up and we spoke about all sorts of shit, philosophy, conspiracy theories... even about how I recommended he try ketamine. crack up.

but he had to give me extra anesthetic as it felt like he was pulling my guts out. that wasnt pleasant.

it was all over in about 45 minutes from shorts off and shorts on.

out of all the people I know I was the worse, the rest where all good.

so it depends on how lucky you are. I dont mean to scare you, but you wanted honest information.

dont fear the operation, its easier than what your wife would go through.

While there are complications with any medical procedure, for your wife it's open surgery. For a male it's not even an outpatient procedure, you do it in the specialist's office, generally.

The risk of complications increase the minute you introduce general anesthesia.

Gods, no ... ah you don't know any better. Look, too many hysterectomies take place yearly, and that's conventional medicine treating women like their bodies are bad. And just because a woman has gone through menopause doesn't mean her uterus and ovaries are TOTALLY shut down.

I want you to take note, read a book called "Confessions of a Medical Heretic" by Robert Mendelson, MD.

A vasectomy has NOTHING to do with sperm production ... just its expulsion. And if anyone around here shouldn't have a problem with that, Red, it should be you

My best friend had one after his second child. No problems and said it was one of the best things he ever did.

People DIE under general anesthesia, the rate is 1:10,000.

well I was in the same situation as you man, and I figured its easier for me, with no risks that woman encounter and cheap. My libido was the same for a while but after the pain and swelling I just dont like to get too physical, so libido sucks. but I am just one bad case. you may find out that it was teh best choice to make and laugh all the way to nightly orgasms!

I dont want to scare you off, but like I said earlier, its my experience, and you have a right to hear from both extremes.

hey i had it done about two yrs ago after my wife and I had our two kids, the procedure is very quick, it does hurt at first, when they give you the local to your nuts. during the OP its not so much as pain put you feel abit of pressure. i walked out of the OR after 40 min. I was down for about 3 days and just took it easy for a few weeks. It was very liberating, not haveing to worry about what will happen, and I dont know about other guys who have had it but it did intensify the orgasam quite a bit. I would recomend it if your done haveing kids.
