To get this Tattoo or not get it

i'd say nay, but that's just me. the color is the part that i don't like. good black/grey work beats the shit out of color any day. plus i'd go for larger, shoulder to shoulder.
definetly drop the color though. trust me on this one. it fades after a while. some good neo-tribal shading would really look awesome. the best way i can describe it is it looks a lot like a photo negative. plus you can get really intricate with shading, moreso than with solid chunks of color.

looks like the logo for a take-away pizza place, have a look round all the internet tattoo galleries.........there are so much better ones

i agree, the colour is no good. i understand that you want the colours of the italian flag, but still, i don't think they're very suitable on skin. looks a bit clownish/carnival-like because it's bright and out-of-place. i give you props for designing something on your own, as i think just about everyone should do (they are meant to be permanent, after all, might as well be original and take your time thinking about it). as for the shape, the two curved spikes are ok, the rest i don't know about. is this an image of something familiar? a crushed clove of garlic perhaps? 
whatever you end up with, make sure it compliments the location on your body and its contours. for example, something that rests on the middle of your back might do well to emphasize your spine as a central axis for the piece. people's eyes, when drawn to such a layout, might find it automatically and naturally appealing, because they're seeing patterns that they are conditioned to find aesthetically-pleasing.

well i sorta understand lol....ok so where would i put that design to look aesthetically - pleasing?

Well if you have to ask others if you should get it I would say no then.
Get something that either means something to you or something YOU want, never mind what others think. Just remember that it is there for life.
Nothing wrong with showing others but I believe that if you are looking to justify it then maybe that it one isn't right for you.
As for colour in Tats, both my shoulders and done in black and red and I love it.
