That deep? They were fracking at a couple thousand feet or so with the rigs I was working with up in Wyoming... Well, that's what they told me anyways (I was just the chemist dealing with the water treatment). I know it was shallow as hell. Damn.

7k is pretty shallow brother. Keep in mind when they frac, they frac zones. 1k may have been the first zone. The water tables on the western slope are around 700 feet.

You must have been working in the Dome are in wyoming.

dood, did you read about that shooting in LODO last weekend?

Heard about it yeah. That is why you don't shoot at cops.

MM- If he was working CBM out of Gillette in the Big George there is only one zone and completion depths are usuall 1,800-2,200'. The oil guys always joked that we were drilling sewers and not wells.

Ft Union formation Big George coal beds. Top of coal is usually aroun 1,000 to 1,500' and be thickness ranges from 80-220' of continuous coal in places. The are split leaves in some areas but usually once you start getting in the western or northern zone of the powder river basin. It is fairly new sediment (Cretaceous ~65mya) so the burial depths aren't very high. The coal is typically a mid grade sub-bituminous with moderate SCF/ton rating, but highly economical due to aggregate production and low installation costs.

Also coal doesn't usually show up much below 7,000' because it get metamorphosed too readily. I think the deepest actual coal I've seen was at 8,000'. Usually it has altered so much at that depth that you can't really even call it coal anymore.

why are people more interested in picking apart my posts than focussing on the fact that unless something is done to stop firearms, mainly handguns, falling into these peoples hands then more 'college/school massacres' will occur?

Dude, you don't seem to recognize that there already ARE such laws in place. 3 day waiting periods, background checks, gun registrations, etc. People with criminal records obtain guns illegally. People underage obtain guns illegally. Your shit's getting old.

When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have them.

your being stupid now. car accident will always occur. college/school massacres should not.
i cant see why you lot keep overlooking the fact that it is far too easy for easily concealed firearms to end up in the wrong hands.

what about drinking and driving? Drunk drivers kill and injure people en mass. Why don't we ban alcohol? Oh wait, we tried that...it didn't work too well. Now the gov't just taxes the shit out of it.

This line of thinking is flawed.

Its so funny about those who want to get rid of the right to bare arms

tell me if the British Crown succeeded in doing something similar could we have ever rebelled?

This ruling means shit.

In cali - you'll still need a permit from the sheriff to carry a handgun (good luck with that).

All you can do is buy one, hurry it up (keep it in the box in the car) and then keep it there. And only use it when shooting intruders.

Kalifornia and other "liberal" states are not going to change their draconian gun laws. Too many gangbangers out there will fuck it for everyone else.

Yes kids, drug cartels and gangs applauded this decision too. Not just hunters. Guess which faction of society fucks it up for real gun owners?

There were 143 gun-related murders in Washington last year, compared with 135 in 1976, when the handgun ban was enacted.

^^Proof banning guns doesn't do shit!^^

Too bad that liberal newspaper didn't report how may crimes were stopped prior to the banning of guns in DC and how many people got robbed beaten raped etc. when the ban happened.

Washington DC wanted to ban all handgun not just conceal carry. But yeah I know, Cali is fucked up. It's a lot easier to buy a gun here in Canada than Cali. Even CCWW license are easier to get if you know the right people.

Of course that shotgun would be illegal in Cali lol
