Thursday's stink!!!!

Thursday is bench day for me...always the day that I dread the most.

I just can't get pumped up to bench press...the most useless day in my training. It just doesn't get me going like gm's, deads, overheads, or squats...

People always ask...'how much can you bench' and I just kindly explain to them that I believe that the bench press is probably the least functional exercise that an athlete can do AND that I don't focus on it much...

Just complaining for a bit...before I go and bench for a while.

I do get to do some JM's, rotators, barbell rows, curls and maybe some hang snatches though!!!! :)

well.............. just suck it up.

i can agree with you about it not being as functional as the other lifts you mentioned. however, i love to bench.

so go set a pr, come back here, and we'll tell you how great you are........lol

I don't see the point of benching at all. In fact, I wouldn't bench... except I am probably competing in a pl meet next month.

I have a hard time getting psyched to bench too. But I have to do it, so I do it.
 
I think the bench is a functional lift...grappling and football are two things that come to mind that the bench press helps a lot

I think that I am finding that benching with bands is helping my overheads some...the extra tricep strength is good I guess.

I use speed bench as my 2ndary pressing day. My primary day is overheads...and I LOVE overheads. Talk about a fully body movement.

Maybe I look at GM's, deads, overheads, and squats as a challenge. I know that if I don't take it FULLY serious...that I am going to get hurt. I feel like I am in a battle in which my ENTIRE body is being pushed to the limit...

I don't feel that from bench press. I guess it is needed though.

I'll go change my panties now and put on a pair of underwear and get to work.
