Three Cheers for Mel Gibson

What makes this movie so bad is that it has the potential to incite anti-semitism in a group that, so far, has largely left us alone: the modern american christian.

Does that make sense?

Your comment does not make sense because the movie will not introduce any new information to the American Christian. The gospel is studied every week in churches across the country.

This movie is an epic biblical movie in the tradition of "The Ten Commandments", "Ben Hur", "King of Kings" and "Sampson and Delilah".

There's a difference between reading a sterile book and seeing images specifically designed to incite emotion.

I keep coming back to this thread to try to post something constructive, but I just can't do it. I will never understand the purpose of religion.

Your bias, animosity and agenda finally revealed.

Bible = storybook.
Bias? What, it's a book!
Animosity? I don't hate books. In fact, I read them all the time.
Agenda? Only that I don't plan to read it.

im going to have to disagree with yoru timeless wisdom here.

Jews have the option of believing that jesus will fulfill the other half of the prophecy of the messiah (coming back again) or believing that he was not the messiah. their choices make jesus their enemy, Jesus himself said he came to fulfill the old law not abolish it.

It goes beyond whether someone has a choice or not. Bhuddist, Hinduist, Shintos, Janist, zoararastrians all have the same choice yet society does not look upon them with the same derision as is offered to the Jews. Why is this?

As we approach the easter season pay special attention to the reactions of others at critical points in the passion play. The judgement in front of pilot. The Temple and the money changers. The crowd choosing barabas. These are all points that split apart judiasm and turn it into pariah.

I think all this antisemitism stuff is silly. Christians know that Christ had to die to fullfill his purpose. Why would they blame the Jews? If he didn't die, we would all be lost and be bound by the same law the Jews would and I like shrimp, lobster and pork. Jesus must have loved the Jews otherwise He wouldn't have picked being born Jewish. All the most righeous people have been Jews - Moses, Abraham, Isaac and on and on.

I mean blaming the current day Jews for something that happened 2000 years ago is just as stupid as blaming current day white Americans for slavery. It's moronic.

My hope for this movie is that it helps more people accept the Lord as their Savior before they die and can't.

I hate christians and I really don't give a fuck about jews.In fact I think all religions are a joke. This movie is equal to any other fiction movie Like bill and teds exelent adventure.

P.S don't the jews control the media.
If this is true how did this movie get made?
