Does anyone have any comments on these dumbells?
I'm thinking of purchasing them for my home gym. For somone who works out alone in their basement, these things seem to offer many benefits.
1. Ever price a set of pro dumbell from 5-120lbs? The cheapest I've seen so far is about $1500 plus shipping for Hex head dumbells.
These will be about $725 delivered.
2. If you do get a set of dumbells from 5-120lbs do you also have a rack to store them so they aren't all over the floor? Add another $200 for the rack
These come with a free stand.
3. For working out in a home gym, space is valuable. A full set of dumbells will take up a whole wall of my gym.
These will take up about 4 sq. feet.
4. Hex dumbells are the cheapest. Who likes using these with their thin grips.
The Ironmaster dumbells have 1 1/4" thick grips, not 1" like most hex dumbells.
I'm currenly using 3 sets of spin lock dumbell handles. If you've ever used the splin lock dumbells you know that working out alone requires that you rest the dumbell on your knee before jacking it up to the starting position for your movement (bench, shoulder, incline press). Those pointy bar ends make this virtually impossibe.
Notice that the ironmaster dumbells have flat ends? Pretty slick.
Also, with spinlock collars the dumbell will always be as wide as the bar. Doing seated curls sucks when the edge of the dumbell keeps hitting your thigh. The ironmaster dumbells are only as wide as you need them for the amount of weight you are using.
So, does anyone have an opinion on these? Am I missing something, or are these the best thing since the invention of the squat box?
What am I overlooking???
And no, I don't work for Ironmaster, but if I can't find a fault with them I may buy their stock
