This place doesn't excite me the way it used to....

sailor... how do you explain licking the monitor when someone walks in the room?

hey, this salami dude has 200 posts in like a week??? wow, HE is bored.

"Something has changed....I almost find it boring now."

Uh-oh, I know those symptoms... be careful... you may actually suddenly want to meet real people.

and remember: "real people=venereal disease."

Hey Sailor_Girl...I'm ex-Navy. P-3 squadron in Brunswick, Maine. Hated it!

How do you like the Navy?

Hope this question doesn't 'bore' you.

I'm only a DEP right now.....don't leave for bootcamp till June 25, 2002. I'm actually re-considering a lot lately......talk to me girl.....why'd you hate it?!

Well...

....I went in on a short program....it was a special reserve thing where you only had to commit to two years...that was a strike against me right away...nobody wanted to train me to do anything (you don't get an A school in this program) because they assumed I was a short-timer and there was no guarantee I'd re-enlist.

So I had to clean toilets and scrape paint off airplanes for a year, then the last six months they trained me to be a plane captain....not exactly mentally stimulating.

And when I applied for an officer program, they rejected me even though they had many openings...I had a degree, passed all their tests...but...I think they just didn't like me.

If they don't like you, you'll get nowhere. At the time I was a smart kid and I didn't hide this fact....a lot of folks in aviation squadrons in the Navy aren't the smartest of the bunch, so they put you down if you have a degree and whatnot. Not like I went around bragging...but Chief Petty Officers had all my files, and told everyone, kinda blackballed me....

...'you dat gal that thinks she's so damned smart' I was told on many an occasion. One CPO called me 'breeder girl' once...most of the young aviation females were looked upon as sex objects, for the 'fly guys' to chum on.

And...so you know the whole story...I was kinda cocky after awhile...I'm bi-sexual and since I knew I wasn't gonna get anywhere...well, let's just say that while the fly-guys (guys that actually got to fly or be part of aircrew) were supposed to get all the new girls that came to the squadron...

...well, I got the girls first, if you know what I mean.

And they flyguys were very pissed. They were openly angry with me...at lunchtime...we all ate in the same cafeteria...I was attacked verbally by a group of 10 guys...loud and open...they called me names and said stuff like...'bitch give us a chance....you get'em first cuz you live in the barracks' blah blah.

I'm not bragging here...new girls in a squadron have a particular vulnerability that men and pissed off people like me can easily take advantage of. I'm sorry for what I did, and it ruined my career in the Navy...but it was for the best I think.

You might like it, a lot of folks do, and it is much better for girls/women now...I was in just around the time 'don't ask don't tell' was instated.

I had fun lots of times...went to Puerto Rico for six months...cool people to drink and gamble with. Learned to play poker, get drunk and let loose.

you only think they hated you because you were smart. its probably more like you thought you were smart. you thought you were going to be special. some kind of superwoman good enough to stand against any man. thats why they hated you. im sure you were just an annoying bitch that nobody could tolerate. there is no way it was due to your intelligence.

Holy shit! That sounds crazy. I signed for 4 years. I'll be an Operations Specialist working with radar. My A school in in Virginia.
