shes obviously out of my league plus shes white, will have to settle for someone like you

settle never sounds appealing when it comes to stuff like that babe.

Besides, tis common knowledge that true 1%er diggers consider all 1%er options as serious possibilities.

Ron Paul regarding social security:

"It’s a mess. And it proves that the government is not very good at central economic planning, even for retirement. The money was taken from the people with good intention. We should do our best to return it to those that have taken it. But we need to allow the young people to just flat out get out of the system. Because, if you have the government managing these accounts, it’s not going to work."

meh...as fat as most american's have gotten, a lot of them are gonna have big ole' heart attacks and die and they won't be a burden on the social security system anyway.

You would be 100% correct and the system should self-correct, except for one fact:

There's an ever-increasing mountain of medical and pharmaceutical technology that can keep these people alive far beyond what mother nature intended. Want to be a 600lb smoker with a 8x/day taco bell habit? We make a cardiovascular stent for that! Want 15 of them? No problem. Now sure, it will cost a few hundred thousand dollars per episode to extend their life, but money isn't an object when you have true compassion.

that system is gonna take care of itself too...too damned expensive...people are opting out of health insurance left and right...and then spending their money on fast food, beer and smokes.

Yes, but under Barrycare when the employee opts out, the employer gets penalized. And if that person doesn't have a job, then they go on the medicare (or their employer chooses to simply pay the penalty).

I agree though that vastly fewer people will have health care. The only solution may be to let the entire system crash and reboot.

real estate crashed HARD...and we all still survived...one thing's for damn sure, the federal government has no ability to manage the system...they should stick to the shit that they are supposed to take care of...roads, schools, interstate commerce, etc.

As bad as the gov't is at managing money individuals, the young especially, have proven to be much worse. The young will say "ooh look at all this money I don't have to give to Uncle Sam anymore......I smelllllllllllllll VEGAS! (I'll start saving when I'm really making bank around age 40. By which time they've got 2-3 kids and are trying to figure out how to pay off the mortgage they overreached for on the big ass 5BR house they didn't need while saving $150K so the kiddies can get that Liberal Arts degree in Medieval Studies at Mount HolyShitThisPlaceisExpensive University.

Don't take that issue up with me. Address RP's lapdog, redsam. He's the one beholden to that quote.

1) wtf are you talking about?

2) i'm no one's lapdog, he's just the best i can see right now. Already explained i don't agree with him on everything.

I'll keep a running list.

You disagree on:

1) abortion

2) SS abolishment

How about Medicare, income tax, inheritance tax, and capital gains?

You're going to see some serious Arma-freaking-geddon when that first post-Social Security generation walks away from The Firm with a fake gold watch, $23,642 in their 401K and a big "I told yo stoopid ass" from Uncle Sam. THAT's when you're going to need guns.

So are you ok with zero capital gains tax?

no, even though i personally would benefit from that tremendously. If it's treated as a way for people to hide their money from paying taxes even you have to admit that's not right..."some" taxes have to be paid in this system right?

So you disagree with RP on that one too.

What about zero inheritance taxes?

they should teach them some more practical things in school like how to save money, how to shop sales, use coupons, how to make and repair their own stuff, etc.

Oh, and dump SS.

the federal gift tax and the federal estate tax are the exact same system...fyi.

I was not aware, thought it was higher...i guess that happens when you listen long enough to chicken little's like plunkey who make a mountain out of everything. What is the Fed gift tax then right now?

See, I would never think it someone else's fault that I didn't save, nor would I consider it their responsibility to take care of me if I didn't save. If that were me, I'd work till I died, do my best and blame myself for my shortfall.

the gift tax is limited by your unified credit (which is what limits your exposure to the federal estate tax)...for 2012, the unified credit is $1,772,800 which coincides with an estate value of $5,000,000. the unified credit is your lifetime federal estate/gift TAX exclusion...that governs how much shit you can give away without paying tax. they're the same system.

however, you can give away up to $13,000 per year ($26,000 if you're married and elect to gift-split), per recipient, without eating into your lifetime exclusion.

the maximum tax rate is currently 35%...but that shit is scheduled to sunset at 12/31/2012 at which time a taxable estate returns to the $1,000,000 level and the maximum rate returns to 55%...unless the current rules/rates are extended...STAY TUNED!! :lmao:

I'm for some amount of capital gains tax but very low inheritance tax.....no reason for Uncle Sam to profit from someone's death.

well...i kinda think that the intent of the federal estate tax is to keep donald trump et al from ending up with everything...if a couple/few people accumulate all of the wealth, why the fuck should the rest of us bother getting out of bed in the morning...there's gotta be some checks and balances in place in order for this place to continue to be the land of opportunity :)

My response would be that "The Donald" is only successful as long as he is willing to pay a wage that people will put up with his self-promoting bullshit to make him prosperous...That includes appearing on every show available. Would you rather be employed by someone that pays you 100k a year while making 110k a year or a guy that makes 10 million a year while paying you 1 million a year?

I was not aware,

Shocking!

thought it was higher...

It is higher, retard.

If you did listen to plunkey, you might learn something. But instead you just blather about a candidate you don't understand.

So do you agree with Ron Paul on the elimination of all income taxes?

I'll recompile our list so far a little later.

i'm as conservative and capitalist as anyone you know...but, i am also aware of the facts of life...and, i'm pretty sure that if we left that particular loophole out there, someone(s) would jump through it...remember idi amin and baby doc and sadam, etc?? they had all the money, all the cars and all the women and it didn't work out so well.

ben franklin set up a trust as kind of a post-mortem joke...it was to collect interest for 200 years and then be used for the benefit of boston and philadelphia...well, after franklin died, someone figured out that if they left the trust go the way that it was written, it would eventually end up with all the money...so they started giving it away quite a while before the 200 years was up.

That's a parent's job.

true, but come on...look at what we have as parents these days. They clearly aren't doing it, so why not add it to a curriculum? Teach the kids how to not only save their money and live frugally, but skills to get a job. Imagine that!

And what about abolishing income taxes? Do you want to wipe those out too?

You know full well these are libertarian ideals that would take decades to phase in, and RP knows that. If we got this country out of it's current crony capitalist structure then yeah, within a couple generations the need for income taxes would slowly fade. You will not be alive for that so don't worry about it.

That's a parent's job.
It's a parent's job to teach kids not to bring weapons to school....not working out so well.

lazy parents that shouldn't be parents in the first place.

It's cheaper for us to have schools teach them some of these things that the parents won't than to pay for them the rest of their lives.

Best case is the schools reinforce what the parents are teaching at home anyway.
