Yesterday, I had a full crew here painting my house and another crew putting on a new roof. I have a new German exchange student coming to stay with me this year, so I am trying to get my house looking its best before she arrives.
So...
I let the guys know that I'll be gone for several hours while I head to the gym and then go for a run.
I get back, and it sure didn't look like they had gotten too far in the hours I was gone... but I didn't really care. They are paid by the job... not by the hour.
Well...
This morning I sign on the computer to handle my important Elite Fitness message board work... critical to the smooth flow of the nation.
When...
Suddenly my AOL Instant Messanger goes off... then my MSN Messanger... and the Yahoo IM, etc... I have all the message software... but I never use them... and now suddenly they are all active... and I'm getting IM'd by all these chicks with names like I LOVE SALSA DANCING and SWEET MARIA... and they want to talk to Mario... and Pablo... and can I put Enrique back on... seems SWEET MARIA didn't get the time of their date yesterday.
It appears that as soon as I was gone these knuckleheads all kicked back... fired up my computer in my office... and spent the rest of the day being online Romeos.
I'm not sure if I should go out and pretend to be mad... or just keep laughing. It is too funny.
I would like to share something with all of you though. I am about to sign off. I have just walked around the house making sure ALL the workers know I am about to be gone for several hours again. They think I am going to the gym. I am not. I am going to the library. I am going to sign onto the library computer. I have all of their IM handles.
I plan to have a fun and creative afternoon.
