This is it, going for 4x6 routine

Ok after all the silly posts I have created about this program or that or looking like a Spartan Warrior :)

I have decided to settle on a 4x6 program a friend of mine does from advice from real BB's. It is three sets of 6reps of heavy weight but not ball busting, and the final 4th set is like 10% more weight, and once a week he ups the weight just a little bit.

Now will this new routine plus eating more and taking protein shakes help me add muscle to my 5'10" 165lbs body ??

This program sounds a little too simple to actually work, I am not doing a ton of reps just lower sets, well I guess it takes time to gain, and every week it will get a little tougher ? Just need to keep eating :)

Thank's

Did you think all the good bros giving you advice were just imaginary people with imaginary strength moving around imaginary weights that used to be imaginary weak, skinny people a long time ago with imaginary experience? Me too.

if you stick to it, and don't pull a jkurz, you will gain, it just takes time. just make sure the program incorporates squats, deads, bench, and presses, and food.

lifting heavy weights and trying to increase strength in basic exercises? Adding weight, only going to failure on the last set and eating lots of food? Taking in more protien?

there's nothing else actually to weight training. How about you set some reasonable starting strength goals and don't post again until you hit them to prove you're serious about this, say 225lb squat, 185lb bench and 315lb deadlift

I will try my best :)

Exactly. I was pushing you towards Rip's b/c it's tried and true, but ultimately no matter what you do, if you get stronger from it and eat, you'll gain.

As I said before, just get in the gym and do something. Until then its all just mental masturbation.

I really like Tweakle's suggestion that you set some lifting goals. Having a tangible target in sight is excellent motivation. You won't put 100 pounds on your squat without a dramatic improvement in your physique.
